Tony0211: I'm 74 years old and spent most of my photo days looking through SLRs with viewfinders. I'm looking for a high end compact but only the Panasonic offers a viewfinder although the author is critical of it. What does one do on a bright sunny day at the beach or anywhere too bright to see the image on the screen?
Wear a cap or towel to block the sun. Just like the old ways of taking pictures.
My dream pocket camera in the order of priority :1. Olympus XZ-2 lens in SONY RX-100 body and sensor (Raw, HDR,Auto, Manual (including manual focus using the ring ala XZ-2), Bulb, etc) 2. Video performance has to be sharp.3. Built-in Wifi for direct storage and enable full camera control from PC/HP/Tablet4. Uses lasting Capacitive Touchscreen OLED to save power5. Battery for at least >300 shots6. Built in phone (dual SIM cards, sms, alarm,note)7. Built in 16G memory.8. USB 3.0 or FireWire9. 3G or 4G
How about adding some tall protruding conical objects with numbered circular lines and a deep conical hole with numbered circular lines to check the DOF and natural shadows. Also, need some materials with different reflections, and some transparent or translucent object. Even more daring, add an enclosed OLED.
