Then the 70-200 f4 IS L would be the way to go, it is a superb lens and nice and light too so you won't mind carrying it around all day :)

I have this lens and use it quite extensively, you get around 2 stops IS with this lens. But you have to be careful the IS is not auto sensing. So even hand holding this lens with added support can...

I have both the 24-105 and the 70-200 f4 IS, the 24-105 is not a bad lens but it was obvious to me going through shots taken with both of theses lenses, that it was no match for the 70-200. So much...

For me if it was an APS-C sensor then I would like a FL range of 15-45 that would be ideal and f4 throughout the range or faster if possible :)

Depends on what the other choices were.
For me I would always take my Canon EOS 5D3 and 24-70 f2.8 L II with me on holiday.
