  • Submitted a challenge entry Alligator Taking a Walk
I suppose that crouching down and waiting for the exact right second to take this photo of a wild alligator that was walking right toward me could be considered dangerous.
I got out of it's way right after I made the shot.

  • I also use center point expanded for large and small birds, that's what I used for five years on my 7D and still do on my 7D MKII. Although... my 7D still focuses more accurately than the new MK II. ...

  • Commented on Alligator Blowing Bubbles in the Bubbles in Nature challenge

Wow thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoyed this photo!

  • I really don't need a constant reminder (and more photographic evidence) of my ever increasing bald spot on the back and top of my head but which looks even worse from above. Yikes

  • Submitted a challenge entry Anhinga Playing With His Food
Anhingas fish by swimming under water and spearing a fish on the end of their very sharp bill. To get the fish off their bill, they will flip it up and catch the fish out of mid air on the way down. Here is exactly that happening. This fish is heading down the hatch.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Alligator Blowing Bubbles
This alligator surfaced right in front of me and started blowing bubbles at me out of the sides of it's mouth. I was not sure what the message was, but do not suspect he was especially thrilled to see me there.
