Replied in sad reality of Nex
Why carry full-frame bulk with an APS camera? If you have that lens, why not get an M9?

Replied in QC going downwards in Lumix lenses.
The Olympus 14-42mm II R does have the MSC designation. Nowhere on the E-PM1 box does it say "requires Panasonic lens for video shooting". I thank you for your suggested solution, but if you are...

Replied in QC going downwards in mFT products
Like I said, I didn't expect GH2 video quality out of the E-PM1. However, I knew the 14-42mm II R had the MSC designation and as such was supposed to work well for video shooting. I didn't expect...

Created thread NEX-7 shutter speed for video?
What shutter speed do you use when shooting 50p/60p movies with the NEX-7? Is a 360 degree shutter sufficient, or do you need 180 degree for best quality? Of course this has implications on low...

Created thread QC going downwards in mFT products
It seems to me this is the case. I've been looking to get into the system again after selling my GH2 a year ago. Big draw was the new Panasonic X lenses, but after reading about all the problems I...

Replied in Will EM-5 AF be fast with Pany 20mmf1.7?
I own the 20mm and I seriously doubt that lens will be any faster on the E-M5 than it was on my GH2. The 20mm is one of the few remaining mFT lenses with a slowish AF motor, so it's the lens itself...

Replied in Disappointed in the Panasonic 45-175mm
Ok, so it's not the OIS then. What a disaster those X lenses turned out to be... Looked so good on paper...

Created thread Safe to get the 45-175mm to use with Olympus body?
I intend to get a Panasonic 45-175mm lens to use with the Olympus E-M5. Has it now been determined that the doubling and softness problems with this lens only occur when OIS is active? As I...

Commented on Just Posted: Olympus OM-D E-M5 test samples news story
How sad to see all these fanboys of other brands badmouthing Olympus products. I never see this happening when Canon/Nikon/Sony products are tested. Clearly a four thirds sensor performing well...

Created thread A77 - Shutter speeds in auto ISO mode
I mostly shoot aperture priority and auto ISO. How long a shutter speed will the camera allow before it starts upping the ISO?

Replied in Well...
...all these attach to the hot shoe. I've used a Canon camera with the microphone attached only to the hot shoe and it worked fine. Same with macro lights.
But I guess Chas2 could be right....

Commented on Canon EOS 5D Mark III Hands-on Preview preview
Why are they still clinging to the CF standard for memory, when SD cards have become more than good enough at 1/10th the size? Get rid of this obsolete tech!

Created thread Exactly what's the point of the E-M5 accessory port?
I mean, the whole premise of a "hot shoe" (as opposed to a "cold shoe") is that it communicates with the accessory. As the E-M5 has a hot shoe, why does it need an additional accessory port?

Replied in Now that would be GREAT news...
Unfortunately, there is no such news on the site

Commented on Hands-on with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 article
We need a constant f2 standard zoom now! It must be done!

Replied in I'll wait...
So lens barrel wobble did it? Wow, that's bad QC

Auto iso only goes to 1600?? What's the point then?

Replied in They could make a mFT lenses forum
If it gets too crowded in here, they could make a mFT lenses forum. All mFT gear is interchangeable across brands, so there is no sense in making brand specific forums.

Replied in lol
I like how you reasoned, and then answered your own question...

Replied in I agree
I prefer to not change lenses when possible, and then a zoom is more practical than a prime. Shooting handheld indoors or in dark environments, I need all the iso performance I can get. My most...
