Commented on Crane challenge
Five entries so far and while they are lovely photos, none of them are of cranes but are instead egrets and herons.

Nice photo but this is not a viper, but a harmless vine snake.

Placed 9th in the challenge. Added the reflection and the mullet tail - plus plenty of tinkering to bring detail out in bird/sky etc. All elements taken from my own pictures.

Placed 31st in the challenge. A wild 'Common' Chameleon (Chameleo Chameleon), photographed just outside Malaga, Andalucia.
Despite the name, this is a threatened species - mostly because they share their love of coastal southern Spain with half a million Brits. The construction of holiday homes has turned the region into an overcrowded, sprawling metropolis and isolated this amazing species in ever-dwindling pockets of suitable habitat. Pretty much the same story for threatened animals the world over then!

Placed 31st in the challenge. A venomous, sub-adult water moccasin. A type of pit-viper that are also known as cottonmouths, due to the stark white insides of their mouths that they sometimes display when they feel threatened.

Placed 15th in the challenge. A harmless, beautiful snake.
