I was mostly using prime lenses all my life with dslr, as f2.8 full frame zooms are too big and expensive, but I find myself using 10-30 quite often. It's not as good as my 18,5 and 6,7-13, but...

no doubt about that. I wish nikon did the same with nikon 1.
-
now you got my attention :)
I quite like the supplied strap, but I understand, that because of the stiffness, it can get in the way, despite it has a decent widht.
what's the knot by the way?:)

It works fine for me, as I rarely want to use the same AF point after power off.
What I don't like is the 2s self timer, which is reset after each shot. I use it often with tripod and it's a bit...

I just made a quick and dirty comparison with announced panasonic 42.5/1.2, which is scaled down, so the front elements are about the same.
it's not 100% fair, as perspective differs, making the...

as with most nikon 1 lenses, the body of the lens seems oversized considering the amount of glass. With 32mm it seems to be even more unproportional. It's either that the SWM is huge, or nikon just...

I guess AW1 wins, when you put these under the water.
V2+10-30 would make more sense in this comparison.

this is exactly a scenario, I was thinking about. With just 15 meter, 1" and slow lens it is not so exciting diver's camera, but very versatile for general outdoor use. I'm going for a yacht trip...

try to use flash on this one
-
I don't need waterproof, but splash proof camera and lenses would be nice.
exactly :)
-
this is exactly what Sony is doing and they may even continue with their FF dslr line.
Olympus did it already. They actually just killed 3/4 week ago.
-
hope not.
f7 .. seriously?

Thom Hogan recently reported some wrong V1 behaviour with batteries.
Mine is fine so far.. I took 100 pics today, using lcd + lot of playback time and it's stil 83%, which is quite impressive.
-
as I started with digital photography ten years ago, the high iso noise is actually quite impressive for my standards and I'd also rather see improved dynamic range and overall cleaner files at iso...

I thought you can't use magnified view with a dumb adapter. Or do you mean just zoom in using EVF after taking the shot?
-
I think f1.4 may be a good compromise. Considering how tiny are the front elements of 10 and 18.5mm, I'd like to see a bit faster glass for 1" sensor.
-
if there is FX 50/1.4, which is reasonably priced, the 18,5/1.4 should not be more expensive and it should still be a tiny lens (and even 32/1.2 costs way less, than FX 85/1.2 would).
I use 50mm...
-
my 6,7-13 will make me stay with V1 for some time, but I may add used EP2, or another smaller body and oly 45/1.8, since the combo will cost me less than half the price of 32/1.2
-
it has the same flange distance of course, but I think that without the tripod mount it is a lot more compact. I wouldn't care with the 70-200, but it can make a difference with 50mm 1.8 E
-
50mm 1.8 E is quite small, so the dumb adapter would have the advantage of being still quite compact, unlike the ft1.
