There are a few entries that were NOT taken in the daytime - night time and evening shots are not allowed, correct?

A closeup of dragon-boat racers straining from the pain of exertion would have been my submission, if I hadn't been so ironically slow.

When you say : "Upto Five entries per each user is allowed but, they must be different birds photoes." Do you mean they must be 5 different species of bird? Or can they be 5 photos of the same...

Placed 43rd in the challenge. Flamingos live in some of the harshest climatic conditions of the world. The Chilean flamingo's bill is equipped with comb-like structures that enable it to filter food—mainly algae and plankton—from the water of the coastal mudflats, estuaries, lagoons and salt lakes where it lives

Placed 216th in the challenge. Due to their size and continuous vigilance from predators (including man) you don't often see photos of hummingbirds perched on a tree branch. I had the pleasure of seeing this precious gift of nature in the cloud forest of Costa Rica

Placed 205th in the challenge. I was walking along the streets of my mteropolis and i saw this pigeon perched on a fence between 2 buildings. I saw he had no distracting background and figured this would be a great way to highlight his colors. I slowly approached him in a nonthreatening fashion. I was able to get rather close and get a few shots off before he realized I wasn't about to feed him.

I forgot to mention this was in Jaipur, India

Placed 1st in the challenge. I'm not sure what it was she was smoking, but almost every time I passed by the narrow lane way in which she seemed permanently ensconced, I saw her puffing away by herself. I finally got the nerve to ask her for a photo - to which she did consent, though she did demand the bag of almonds I had just purchased.

Placed 16th in the challenge. I had just returned from a day's hiking in the sub-Saharan heat and was having a few cool beverages by the side of the breezy Niger River. As I was watching the sun setting over the Niger river I noticed a series of dugout boats converging underneath the setting sun. Luckily I had my camera with me and I was relatively sober and managed to grab this lovely image.

Placed 8th in the challenge. I planned to photograph the sun setting next to the iconic lighthouse. When I saw a couple holding hands, I just had to capture them inside the sun's orb. Do do this I had to wade out in to the salt water Atlantic Ocean.
