James First 007: To R. Butler: We would all appreciate if real world picture samples were taken simultaneously with the GR and Coolpix A with the same parameters at the same place just a few seconds apart; ie same picture + same parameters.
James
To R. Butler: For greater clarity...identical pictures taken with the GR and Coolpix A with identical parameters, taken side by side within seconds...iso, aperture etc...
Many thanks in advance.

ybizzle: LOL! Fuji X100S owns this in every way for about the same price! Good thing I ordered mine already! ;)
You will find in due time that the IQ on the Coolpix A to be much better than on the X100S...
MrSkelter: I'm so sick of this. When is Nikon going to give us a pocketable camera with the D800 sensor, a 14-400 zoom lens and 4K video for under $500? It's time to take the lead!
In about 10 years or so....
James First 007: O.k. I don't comment very often but please go to www.nikon.com and take a very good look at the limited pictures sample of this new camera...
They are just beyond belief...the IQ is much much better than my RX100 (which I own and like) and much better than the anticipated Fuigi x100s (Period).
My last comment on the subject...
You see nothing in term of IQ because you did not increase the size of the picture on your screen...
Yes, for close up photography you would most likely be better off with at least a 50 mm...a 28 mm might provide a feeling of vital space invasion to those who are being photograph but at the end of the day...so long as there is no barrel distortion, vignetting etc... in your picture you will be fine...
But think this through...if you must have a fixed lens wouldn't you want it to be wide...

Please pay particularly attention to her eyes and notice that in spite of the fact that this lens is a 2.8, the IQ is substantially better in the left eye...

No Mike,
Based on what's available picture wise on the internet... the COOLPIX A wins in the IQ department...the end result...
No view finder because it is a compact camera...
Too many readers and participant on this site don't get that ?????
Ugly ????
Certainly not too wide...

MrSkelter: What is going on with this model's pupils? Seriously. She looks fixed and dilated. Have they been badly retouched? Contacts?
You are dead on...the eyes have been badly retouched...
