I thought XA1 had an AA filter? If so, I vote for Bayer with AA. Honestly after looking at images side by side I think the XA1 is smoother. Xtrans seems to be sharper but exhibits false details at...

What are you rambling about? The sample I posted and the ones in that review are OOC JPEG. Unless you're implying that Fuji's own RAW processor is inferior. Btw it's not out of focus, if you look...

I'm gonna say that this is due to the X100s file being heavily sharpened. If you look at the "3000kgs" logo on the yellow car, you will see white outlines - artifacts of heavy sharpening, the XA1...

And the Panasonic logo looks like watercolor. Can you not use the moire tool and post the same crops again?

Honestly, I think if Fuji didn't introduce Xtrans, they would have sold more cameras, because of:
Little R&D investment (they spent a few years developing it and the alogrithm), no custom sensors...

That's not OOF, that's artifacts of Xtrans interpolation.

The pic above are crops taken from this review http://www.ephotozine.com/article/fujifilm-x-a1-compact-system-camera-review-23040
I'm not 100% sure, but reading this quote "ISO100, ISO12800 and...

I found this comparison, which one do you prefer?

You dont need 1.4 on FF to take photos like 1.4 on APSC.

I don't get this post. You can't even buy any of those lenses yet and now you're regretting a camera that you bought 11 months ago!
FYI it may take another year before you can complete your "Holy...

Great techs, but the commercial made me cringe.

This article has nothing to do with photography. Why should photographers care about the sale figures of certain phones?

Xtrans is heavily marketed as being better than Bayer. I doubt that many people dig down into technical tests to know the pros and cons of each.

Having both the XPro1 and 5D, I often see a difference in the style of photos that I take.

I know we APSC shooters all crave thin DOF at some point but with the 1/4000s max shutter speed and base ISO 200, we'll definitely need a 3 stop filter on there during day time, which will degrade...

Thanks for the info. Yes, the 10-24 is much bigger than I expected. And the 56/1.2 is 1.5x as big as the 60, I would rather have a 1.4 or 1.5 that's cheaper and smaller.
My ideal setup was: 56 + 35...

Xtrans is prone to moire in different conditions.

The jagged edge issue has been discussed here since the beginning of Xtrans. It's real, especially visible with diagonal, contrasty lines. However I bet someone here will tell you that your car is...

Nope. It's the sensor. Even JPEGs have mushy greenery.
