On Canon creates on-screen user-guides for EOS-1D X article (50 comments in total)

26081989: Although I really like the idea of video tutorials, I can't really understand why one would want to play these back on the camera itself. When I watch photo related tutorials I try out the given tips or settings on my camera. This would be hard to do if you need the camera itself to watch these files. Or would this be aimed at people who go out on the field and watch the videos?

You can watch them on your PC or your phone too... Not just the camera.

tommy leong: wouldn't it be nice if they uploaded them to Youtube or something?

its a good move.
the 1D series has become VERY COMPLEX machine.
and japanese english hasn't improved at all.
Reading the manual has been very frustrating.

You can download them from the Canon website...

Why are there so many damn derogatory people on this forum?

And for what its worth, I walked into my little local camera shop here in sleepy old Perth, Western Australia and there on the shelf is a 1DX...

Good to see Canon Australia is looking after us!

robbo d: Have 2 friends at work with N8's, which is what I wanted, but no longer for use with plans in Australia. They have upgraded to belle and love it. At least Nokia have constantly backed up their systems. I had a play n it looks to run great.
Unfortunately Nokia not bringing this here as well.....suck !
Enjoy using my HTC for of the cuff snaps n some good ones at that, but this thing ROCKS for image quality. With reverse interpolation it rivals much better cameras for IQ in good light.
I am one who is happy with symbian especially if i get this camera and it'd apps.

Reverse interpolation... Isn't that a slightly techy term for extrapolation?

Man - some of you guys are so harsh and defensive - a bunch of affirmation junkies!

If you want affirmation, go out and take photos and share the results instead of getting all narky about it!

Personally I just read the reviews to see where the technology is going, not to see if my camera scores more points that yours!

Well done DPR!

Why is the image scaling different on two full frame cameras with 85mm lenses?

The 5D Mark 2 with an 85mm lens has a smaller image than th D800 with an 85mm lens... somethng funny going on.

Does anyone else find it amusing the the lens shade appears to be on a bit wonky?

On Book Review: Vivian Maier, Street Photographer article (150 comments in total)

Liberty555: I'm sorry - I like this site and am a die hard DPREVIEW fan-boy, but how on Earth is that considered a "Book Review"?

A bit defensive there Simon...

Was it hardcover? Softcover? Number of pages? Any critical review (other than suggesting we don't buy it but rather stand around in the store thumbing through it). What about a comment on the foreword? What about Vivian herself? When and where was she born? and died?
I don't want graphs as you rudely suggest, I do want some weight to a "Book Review" though and not a shameless advert for a so-so book.
