On Canon EOS 5D Mark III hands-on preview and video article (270 comments in total)

I was hoping for so much more... I have a MkII and this does not seem that revolutionary. This is an evolution at best. The MkII should have had a more advanced AF system to begin with and things like more programmable bracketing shots should be offered as a firmware update to MkII users.
I am happy to see that the megapixel count was not raised as I prefer low noise over pixels.
What I can't figure out is why Canon in it's infinite wisdom can't put a swivel LCD on there and for a camera that supposedly is being marketed for video. You can put it on a 60D but not on a MkIII. Boo....

It's a bit disappointing that given the amount of glass in use that they couldn't include a little more and get an aperture like oh I dunno F2 or F1.8 god forbid F1.4. Why do these turkeys think that 2.8 is fast enough or is going to provide a shallow enough DOF?

OK I'm confused. Or maybe not. Why on earth would you make conversion lenses for an interchangeable lens system? It's always optically better to get a lens suited for the job rather than throw an adapter on there.
if this was a viable option, why wouldn't we just by silly converters for our DSLR's? Seriously Panasonic?

I thank Fuji for paying attention to what real photographers want in a small camera. We don't want slow zooms, we don't want plastic. Basically we don't want a GX1. We like dials on the outside because we don't shoot in scene modes and like to make photographs. Overall this is a delightful street camera and depending on where the final prices lie I think an XPro1 and a 35 F1.4 would be perfect for the street.

I have to say I'm really disappointed with this. I've been coveting an X100 for some time now and I've had the chance to use one and I liked it but being a canon guy I wanted to see what they would put out given my flashes. The lens on this is a joke. Why can't we put a fast prime on instead of a slow short range zoom. Canon would hit this out of the park with basically the same camera with a 35mm equivalent F2.
Sorry Canon no matter how favourable a review DPR will inevitably put on this, going to buy an X100 or whatever else they release.

SDF: That's HOT! Indeed a MFT and Nikon 1 killer. I want one now!

The only thing this is going to kill is Canon's high end P&S marketshare. Given what the rest of the market is doing this is like Canon's R&D department fell asleep
