Looks like a casual graduation portrait to me with a 80-200/70-200 f2.8 wide open. I'm sure you took a whole lot more. Looks good. You probably were able to afford the nice glass by still...

I'm a D5!I own DX cameras, D7000 and D300 as well as a Canon DX which are working fine for me at the present time. There is also D50 and a D70 in the household which are collecting dust and not...

goodlucksdk,A 600ws light should give off approx. 1/2 stop light above a 400ws light of the same brand at full power. A 800ws light would be 1 stop higher; A 1200ws 1 1/2 stops. It's like the...

Yes, the D600 has an internal focusing motor.

f7.1 is 2/3's of a stop above f5.6 so the meter reading f5.6 and 6/10th's is roughly f7.1.This is why when you changed modes to 1/3 stop you could get a reading of 7.1

goodlucksdk,The next full stop up from 5.6 is 8.0. Then f11, f16, f22 etc.

I would agree with you 100% Carlos; however there truly is a vignetting problem with the VRI version with FF. Makes me wish I had the VRII instead of the VRI, but I'm happy.Just a little more PP!

George,I know, I could tell what was happening when I looked at your portrait. I knew your concentration was on the boys! :)It's alway hardest to be the photographer for your own (extended) family....

George, I feel your pain here. I say this with a big smile on my face, I can tell you had a blast with the boys. With kids this age you probably needed a photographer. Not a slam on you, but you...

Minolta meters are now Kenko. Gossen is another good meter besides Sekonic.

No sarcasm; just that you list 7 camera bodies rated for at least 150,000 frames each that you have "gone through" (1.15 million images total). You state the weakness of the D7000 over the D300 and...
-
You've gone through all of these camera bodies? Over the past 5+ years, professing to be an attorney, shooting mainly BIF. My hat is off to you, that's some feat."I've gone through I think 3 D7000...

You can use the D200 (ENEL3e, three contacts) battery in the D50 (ENEL3, two contacts), not the D50 battery in the D200.

To inspire aspiring 5 year old photographers! My D50 is retired. Taken with a D300.

If you loved your D50, you'll sleep with the D300 next to your pillow. :)

Incredible upgrade, you'll love it. Having a D50 you know the basics and can learn from there. D300 will be heavier and larger and you'll need to change to CF cards from SD (unless you go to a...

You've got a little moire in the image with the redhead, on her blouse.

Here's a great deal. The original owner got sick and was unable to use his camera D300 under 4000 clicks.
