Alizarine: So far, all the "2012" releases sans the 1.4x TC has been released; that's solid proof already that Pentax isn't filing Chapter 11 anytime soon. :D

Looking at the roadmap, there are plenty of even better things to come. A DA Limited zoom - a first for the highly-regarded Limiteds, a new walkaround DA* lens, a new long DA tele zoom, among others yet unannounced - I'm glad Ricoh got Pentax from Hoya!

I sure wish the TC would show up.

Gesture: Great effort for Pentax. Seems there could be more focus points. Also, don't care for the front overhang design-impedes the use of a bellows unit.

I use a short extension tube behind my bellows. No reason
not to. There is good reason for the long snout. It makes
for a higher flash to see over the top of some lenses that vignette
now. One of those is the DA*16-50 f2.8 which although optically good, has had a bit of a negative reputation for mechanical/electronic reliablity---though I've had no problems with mine. It's scheduled to be re-invented soon, and a bullet proof DA*16-50 f2/8 with flash compatibility, a good auto focus
and wide ranging usable ISO could make a real killer combination.

kevinschoenmakers: The K-5 is one of the prettiest DSLRs ever, but the K-30... not so much. Less is more Pentax, less is more.

Me thinks the bottle opener nose has a purpose. by putting the flash a little higher and forward it will be compatible with more lenses, perhaps including the DA*16-50 f2.8
