Excellent image. A bit of a stretch concerning the challenge criteria. Should be in a different challenge.

Ellina: What a totally riged competition!
Although the winning photo is "nice" there is no way it deserves to be 1st.

Total lack of credibility for DPreview

That's a start. Competitions WITH A PRIZE need to be moderated by dpreview and vendor reps. These reps could be the cheat police. It's obvious who would have been removed from this challenge. How could any of us have any respect for these "photographers" after today?

This is a lack of credibility of certain photographers. Not DPreview. I appreciate the opportunity to show my work. I agree that this result was not aquired honorably. What's the solution? We all know the problems.

This challenge is making a mockery of this website. It shows a lack of respect for our craft. What are you thinking?

On Lord Of The Grass in the Insane lighting! challenge (6 comments in total)

Thank you for the nice words. There was some basic editing. It was a great sunset after a weather system had moved out earlier in the day.
Sharpening, Saturation and Cloned out two small distractions in the dark area.
The effect of the Sun against the grass jumped out at me at the time. It was hard to get the Sun behind the grass (wind). This was the only one that blocked it out.

jmgir: Great photo and congratulations.
Wish that voters wouldn't give 0.5 on such an entry that fits the theme of the Challenge, oh well same old same old stuff.

0.5 votes on many high quality images is just a show of ignorance and lack of character.

* I just realized that my previous comment could look like an attempt to influence voters. Not my intent. I will be voting without prejudice on this.
My comment was an observation of this and other challenges I've seen.
