On The Elusive Tree Horse in the Out of place. challenge (1 comment in total)

A lot of voters in challenges really do kinda suck. Limited imagination or character or just plain Dooshes. (I know I mis-spelled that by the way) When I vote, I judge image quality first, then composition and subject matter based on the rules of the challenge. I don't believe many voters have that capacity. I do believe that there are a lot that do have that capacity, but are greatly outnumbered by the lesser character voters.

santamonica812: (As I posted on another image), I have to give all animal portraits only a 1/2 point score, since this image violated the challenge rules . . . "subjects must be fully clothed." This model is clearly stark naked. (I can't tell if it's a male or female subject either, but I'm giving all photographer the benefit of the doubt on this challenge.) :-)

(Sorry, fully clothed does not equal a fur coat. I would not accept a human image, under the explanation, "Well, she's wearing a skin coat.")

Clever idea. But, nope, not for this challenge. (Even though my own dogs are absolutely part of my own family.)

{:-D OK

You're a good egg. I don't plan on doing this sort of thing regularly, but we really love our little stick of dynamite. She had a lousy first year of life before we rescued her. Someone found it ok to burn her ear with a cigarette. She holds a special place in us. Thanks for the nice comments. ;-)

On UK Landscape Photographer of the Year winners announced article (157 comments in total)

These awards are a total farce. I see far more worthy images on flickr on a daily basis. Are we supposed to marvel at these "landscapes?" No credibility when architecture is called a landscape. What are these folks smoking?
