  • Submitted a challenge entry Bad birch
A blackeyed american, growing more than a mustache, I'd say!
Placed 4th in the challenge. A blackeyed american, growing more than a mustache, I'd say!
  • Submitted a challenge entry Jack of Hearts
A tiny bug encircled by a ring of hearts!
Could it be the famed love-bug maybe..? :)

  • Submitted a challenge entry Bride
An ash, white as a bride, all covered in rime from the frosted fog that drifts along the lake, just as the ice is starting to form... The pronounced blue cast is caused partly by shadows from drifting fog overhead, mixed w/ the light from clear blue skies behind me.

  • Replied in Corrected crops
100% crops from E-5.Technically sub par, so no work of art, just meant for true size comparison.Otherwise my narrative up thread applies, apart from the comet tail length that is, which made be...
  • Replied in Error
Oops - something went wrong here - these are not 100% crops at all! :(Just watch them for size comparison then - I'll submit some 100% crops later...Sorry, my bad :/
  • Didn't take any 250mm shots yesterday, so I did a couple tonight (23.03.2013), just for documentation/comparison. In this pic the moon and comet sizes are directly comparable, both shot tonight,...
  • The comet C/2011 L4 (aka PANSTARRS), as seen over Nes, Hedmark, SE Norway.Shot March 22nd 2013 at 20:45 GMT +1 (CET). Actually, it's right above my home here, as you can see the house in the lower...
  • Yes, I can see that, but as said, I didn't read that part (Canon's). If you go further up, above the camera pic, the ingress of theDPR article still says:

  • @ cgarrard:
    I haven't read Canon's statement...
I read this article, and the very first sentence atop THIS page states:
"Canon has announced the EOS 100D/Rebel SL1, the world's smallest, lightest...

  • It's not the worlds lightest DSLR.
Compared to the Olympus E-4xx series it is narrower all right, but deeper, and equally high. But heavier.

    100D - 407g - 117 x 91 x 69

    E-410 - 375g - 129.5 x 91...

  • As a DSLR, how small will the OVF be on this one?Considering the penta mirror box size (probably not a prism here, due to low price point), it's gotta be pretty small. And that was one of the major...
  • Strangely, in my experience, all my 4 SHGs need adjustments, whilst all my HG are spot on without it. The worst culprit is the 14-35, the least is the 35-100. But these lenses do seem to act likeĀ ...
  • Hehe, you know, being a dummy, that's the easy part! :)As mentioned, you can just monitor the pic on the fly on the camera LCD too, provided your focus target is sufficiently defined (my example...
  • Pick a small contrasty object as a focus target. Myself a made a black marker cross on a matcbox-sized piece of paper, and pinned it to a 10cm stick.Put the target on a lawn. That way the placement...
  • Replied in Calibration.
No it will not affect any other lens or combo. The calibration is stored in the camera by means of the lens/EC serial numbers, either for the bare lens or its combination w/ an EC. That way you can...
  • Hehe, no, it's obviously in your heart as well! :)Well, it could be due to the fact that legacy glass at large stems from 135-film cameras, IOW todays FF format. Which again means that on any other...
  • Replied in Great!
Wow, those are not bad! It's a fairly faint object after all...Hoping for clear skies next week, as the Panstarrs will be close to the waxing moon on March 12th :)Moreover, I wonder how comet ISON...
