Only 12m?
Why no one make a camera like the Nikonos that can dive without a housing to 50m ?
12m is too much for most of snorkeling people and not enough for divers.
If a housing is needed I will stay with my E-PL2 with housing.

I don't think that is a problem for somebody that "Leaf" comes from ISRAEL.

On Square Format: not so weird article (5 comments in total)

The article is an interesting one; Thank you.
I love square format for some pictures. Some I crop from 4/3 or I shoot with 2 cameras from my collection: Kiev 88 (6x6 on 120 film) or Yashica 44 (4x4 on 127 film).
Is nice and fun to shoot.

I want it!!
I already have a 300mm mirror lens that is not so sharp. The same with my 500mm mirror.
I hope this one will be sharper.
All the people that think f6.3 is not enough are wrong. Is not a lens for night pictures (only if you photograph the moon). In good light if you are steady enough it can be a very nice lens.
Doughnuts can be nice in some pictures.

BE POSITIVE!

12m is nice, but I would prefer a real diving camera that can go to 50m.
Until then I will use my E-PL2 with the housing.

While I don't like the look of the wood camera, I can see that there are people that
can love it and afford it. This don't make them bad photographers.

Paul_B Midlands UK: Very excellent nature photographers dream camera: now disguised as a TREE so you can stand behind it, finger on shutter, invisable ready for that opportunity of a lunchtime catch.
Or not.

If the camera looks like a tree - beware of dogs. LOL

Hotchops99: There is an easy-to-use stereo viewer for side-by-side prints currently available
Designed by Brian May (yes, that one) to go with his superb book "A Village lost and Found", the Owl viewer is fine for viewing antique stereo cards as well as your own 3D pairs.
I have supplied my children and their children with these inexpensive viewers together with 3D prints from family stereo pictures I have taken during the past 30 years.
Stereo isn't new, it isn't hard and it aint gonna go away.
By the way, if you're really interested, why not join the Stereoscopic Society here in the UK or the National Stereoscopic Association in the US?

Side by side 3D pictures or movies can be viewed with some training without glasses (cross eyes method). Is a shame that not everyone can do this.

I am surprised by the negative tone of posters on every new item.
I like the 3D photo. (I don't shoot video much) I think is the time to learn new things that can be done with a camera. (3d is not new, but now is more available to masses)
The effect is fantastic and maybe we have to think about different composition in some cases to use it better.

Neil Morgan: Its amazing that a camera can generate so much hate before its even been released?

Well there are a lot of people saying bad things about this camera and not one of them have a photo gallery and most have only posted to bag a product.

How about letting people vote with their money before you write it off, more photos and less talk, we might take you seriously then.

I agree 100%
I wonder how many of the people need all of the functions of their cameras and use them.
Cameras are getting smaller and better. And we have to admit that those cameras are not designed for professionals.

The images are good enough for me.
Anyway I will prefer a camera with an EVF.
My opinion is that a good EVF is the best kind of viewfinder existing and I try all of them from the small one of bellows camera 6x9, the RF, TLR, SLR and EVF.

Interesting cameras and nice colors (I don't like the pink one!).
The EVIL (mirrorless) cameras will be the mainstream in short time.
Good move Nikon!

Is about 2 years when I discover the anaglyps method and I shoot 3D pictures.
I try also small clips. The 3D effect is wonderful, but a lot of people cannot see the
effect or have problems (like headache)
Another method to see 3D pictures is "side by side" but few people can see the 3D effect and the 3D picture is 1/3 linear than the full screen.
I think that the 3D photography will have a good future.
-- Playing a game in 3D doesn't add more to the action and looking with red-cyan glasses make the viewed image much darker and loose the colors.

The writing is on the wall. I'm sure that in less time than expected EVIL (mirrorless) cameras will replace DSLRs camera first at introductory models and in short time even for some professionals and advanced amateurs (those that don't need to impress with a big camera)
The EVF still needed and the last one from SONY sound good enough to replace every other viewfinder.( for me the VF-2 from Olympus is good enough)
The way to a professional EVIL camera will go trough water proof camera and good lenses.
An electronic shutter may be in the future also.

Great article.
For now, I dive with an E-PL2 with the Olympus housing.
I want to see a digital Nikonos.
