munro harrap: This thing is bigger than both of us! Neddy, it's an-Elephant. (The Goon Show, needless to say!)The answer is a new hi res sensor for BIG pictures, now that Canon have upgraded loadsa lenses for it, and a new 1D body with 4k and no OLPF and NO AA filter either, to rival the Sony sensor in their A7R and the Nikon D800E and D810 and D800 bodies.
This is necessary for Canon as at the moment they can only produce tiny photographs!
thats why 70% of the pros used canon at the world cup... get a clue what your talking about clown.
it´s the new 800mm f5.6.i have seen a prototype in brazil already.
Sixpm: Instead of accepting the merit of each camera's unique design and character, people always compare to another and it's not that wise IMHO. I have used almost every camera that there is and still own enough to write this comment, I see that each camera (and lens) are synergies formed by each particular company's and designer's philosophy, this camera is intended for street, sports or action photograph and we should be viewed it as such.
Personally, having used the V3 and made prints to 60' x 40" (inches) have confirmed the print from this 'little' camera has the look and feel of the tradition film camera and when printed on the fibre material, one can hardly see any digital artefact (with all noise reduction switched off - from the untouched jpeg files).
I thought the V1 was good but the V3 is every way better in both handling and image quality (with film like grain noise) taken into account. I'm not a brand follower as to me all camera/lenses are just tools for me to express myself.
and i did..... BS
"I have used almost every camera that there is "
yeah sure.. that sentence alone shows you are a troll.... not worth reading any further.
Photoman: "For less money, there are larger sensor options that deliver better images in a body that is still relatively small (Sony a6000). The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III, one of the V3's competitors in terms of sensor size, is cheaper and smaller with less shadow noise at all ISOs."
stop yuor nikon-fanboying howaboutabrain... you make yourself look like a clown defending this POS.
beavertown: 1200 bucks for this IQ?
Why don't they just put a smartphone sensor in it?
excellent raws.. get some googles your going blind.
zettlers: This one is not for me so I hate it and expect everyone else to do the same!
no you get that wrong.... this camera is for no-one with more then 4 functional braincells.
alone that it use MICRO SD cards shows that the engineers have not the user in mind. together with the lousy performance only morons would buy this.... especially for the price.
Sonyshine: A brilliant little action and wildlife camera from Nikon. I really , really want one!
Why is the EVF a separate extra? What on earth were they thinking of with Micro SD cards?
The retail price is hysterically funny - no way will I pay anything near what they want for this camera when my V1 can do most of the things the V3 can do.
I still think this camera is a (potential) winner but Nikon's marketing department need to take a long walk off a short pier...
if DPreview would not be such nikon fanboys this article would be a rant.
and why im forced to buy MICRO SD cards... for this lousy camera?that´s utter nonsense nikon.....
grumpycat: who will buy this thing???
dumb people buy dumb things.....
in short..... expensive crap.
Kevin Sutton: How can it be sharp at 600mm on FF but less sharp on APS-C?
not this test... the test on DXO´s own website.
read the DXO test they touch that topic.
Henry M. Hertz: i have tested this lens against other 400+mm lenses... and there is simply no alternative in this price range.
no other tamron or sigma 400+ mm lens around 1000 euro can compete with the tamron 150-600mm at the long end. the closest is the EF 100-400mm from canon.
sure my 400mm f2.8 is better.. suprise suprise.but there is no other 400+mm lens for ~1000 euro that can keep up with the tamron.
the EF 100-400mm canon is worse at 400mm than the tamron.the tamron is at 450-500mm as good as my EF 100-400 copy was at 400mm.my tamron is really really sharp at 200-300mm.that´s why i sold my EF 100-400mm and kept the tamron.
i see this lens as direct competition to canons EF 100-400mm and it´s a great competition!!
for testchart shoots visit www.the-digital-picture.com.compare the tamron to the canon EF 100-400mm.
the EF 100-400mm and especially the EF 300mm f4 from canon show WAY MORE CA´s then the tamron.so i can not agree to the findings of this test concerning CA´s.
the quality of the 400mm f5.6 is a bit better.but it has no IS... and is no zoom.
and a long lens with no IS... :-(
believe me your keeper rate will be better with the tamron.
i would only choose the 400mm f5.6 over the tamron when i ALWAYS use a tripod and don´t need the flexibility of a zoom. so imho not a real alternative.
i have a EF 400mm f2.8 II too.... personally i choose the tamron for it´s flexibility.there are times when i don´t want to carry the 400mm f2.8.
the EF 100-400mm with an 1.4 extender.. is f8. not good for most people as they will lose AF with many canon cameras.
as for the EF 100-400mm II.. i waited for it nearly 18 month.i was never really happy with the push/pull design of the EF 100-400mm.but canon took to long.... and i guess the new version will be around 2500+ euro.
Sonylover1: Tammy looks VERY nice on a 5D III with f8 on 600 mm.Compare it with Canon 200-400 with 1,4 extender at 560 mm f8.It is not a 10x times difference as of price...
DP must have a crappy 100-400 copy. The 100-400 at infinity or long range is superior in comparasion to many other zooms/ cheap fixed lenses.
well my EF 100-400 and that of a friend (who also bought the tamron) was exactly as the on at the-digital-picture.
and as you can see it IS much better than the sigma and the older tamrons.
but it´s not really great at 400mm.
i have tested this lens against other 400+mm lenses... and there is simply no alternative in this price range.
AngryCorgi: Seems to work really well. Very nice.
you judge that from a video made by adobe?
if all would work as shown in adobes videos.... i would use shake reduction more often. but in reality it´s a pretty useless feature most of the time. not even close to what they first shown in a demo.
jwalker019: When will this update be available? Creative Cloud shows no updates currently available :/
well it´s adobe.. they are unable to organize such things.. it´s always a mess.
last time i had to wait 3 days until i got the updates at work.
subscription is for &%$%&... no wonder that stufff is for apple only......
InTheMist: Downgrading my account.
Adobe, you suck for forcing this subscription mess on users.
and i guess they think apple m*r*ns are the typical subscription user.... as android is ignored... ;-)
bigdaddave: Barely two months after Adobe promise they won't ever have Lightroom on subscription here it is.
The sooner we can do without Adobe the better, utter scumbags
lightroom is on subscription for quite a while.you mix things up.. adobe said they will not make it subscription ONLY.....
