In my opinion, smart media had a short life, but at the time, wafer-thin memory was sweet.

Adobe software has always been free, "open source". I have always had the latest PS and LR flavours. Not to mention the Nik software collection. Get with it.

For sure. If physics limits us from making an 18-250 with a max aperture of... f/4 (let's say), then I understand. But honestly, I wouldn't mind carrying a bigger lens if it meant the telephoto...
