I have both and while I love my 1Ds3 the 5D3 is the better camera and the more modern focusing system is not only better but much more versatile and adaptable. The 5D3 is just a fantastic camera

+2 Did the upgrade, the new tools work really well. If you learn how to use it LR is an incredible RAW converter. I have no idea about the other features, never use them.

The keystone corrections alone are worth far more than that to me. Just because you don't need something doesn't mean proper photographers don't.
