PhotoKhan: It is probably a problem of this particular unit but I noticed a definite tendency to overexpose.
In my monitor I also noticed some pictures are overexposed.
Scorehound: If you want to see samples from the 7D mkII, Matt Granger managed to get some nice examples of the IQ from the 7D mkII here:
One further note: These galleries are called "samples" galleries for a reason. They aren't supposed to be fully edited, ready for sale or exhibition images. They are examples of base photos shot with the camera. So know that they weren't shot in RAW and then converted, and there probably wasn't a $2000 piece of glass hanging off the end of it. So judging the camera based on a few sample images is pointless and a waste of time.
OK hope for the best....will wait for those professional who will make acceptable pictures in high ISO (specially low light shots).
So why DPREVIEW are posting these sample photos!!??
As per my observation, all the high ISO (1600+) shots have higher grains than older 60D and 6D (full frame),then what is the logic behind much hyped DIGIC 6 processor......a big question mark for Canon R&D.
Scrozzy: Do the DPR staff draw straws on who gets to review Canon or Nikon DSLRs? The guy with the shortest straw has to the do the review, yes?
It seems you guys are damned if you do and damned if you don't when it comes to reviewing this sort of kit.
Thanks for the review anyway. I appreciate something this comprehensive takes a lot of time, and I understand you're reviewing the camera as a whole and not just the sensor. Unlike some.
You are right.I found 60D's sensor give little better quality than much hyped 70D.I tested from raw file.
Shiranai: Another gap-filler from Canon. This cam probably only is meant for cinematographers. No improvements in image quality vs 60D oder 600D which again shows, that there's no room for improvements anymore. If only Canon packed these features in the 6D, it'd have been the perfect cam.
You are right. As I checked some sample pictures in a polish site(http://www.optyczne.pl/6029-nowo%C5%9B%C4%87-Canon_EOS_70D_-_zdj%C4%99cia_przyk%C5%82adowe.html),where I found high ISO noise is worse than Canon 60D,specially color noise is horrible.
New camera from CANON stable....sounds good. But my question is,is this model they made for videographers?!!Basically this camera is a sill camera. They should have tried to make this APS-C camera produce less noise at high ISO like 6D and MKIII.But I think they clearly avoid this critical problem.I have seen the samples by CANON,which has lot of noise in the darker parts.CANON engineers....are you aware of these noise problems!!!
At low ISO this is getting the best result, black is excellent.
In a very near future this kind of cameras will dethrone SLR digital!!
