I agree, I bought one of these last week, and I appreciate the idea! I was planning on using a "string tripod", but the thought didn't cross my mind that I can use the same tricks to make my...

I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, but you're right - the red sandstone turns gray in the areas of the umbrella photo that are only slightly less-well lit.

It's to make robberies a little more awkward for the fleeing thieves :)

I just barely bought it, so I'm still waiting for it to arrive. There is a video on YouTube of the unboxing of one of the Meike housings:

There's no...

Thank you very much for these comparison shots. I see quite a bit graininess, noise, and/or banding in the darkest shadows. Does that mean the shadows are underexposed? In the EXIF I see 1/250s...

I agree. He's a very talented photographer.

I do not own one of the Sigmas yet, but from what I've seen so far during the last several months, doing portraits indoors with low light will be a challenge. You will need a tripod, longer...

I think what the DP series needs next is image stabilization. That's the biggest limitation, along with ISO and lighting. Sigma already has optical image stabilization technology, so if they could...

I'm still on the fence about getting a Sigma DP series camera. Originally I was only interested in the wider field of view from the not-yet-released DP1 Merrill. Now, after months of envying other...

Not using IBIS may have factored into the Nikon 1 system. If a larger image circle is required, then larger lenses are required too. That's a trade-off, though. For lenses that are already big,...

It's possible that low voltage on the battery caused it to have trouble writing to the card. Maybe Sigma is already aware of the problem, and a future firmware update will have it complain sooner...

Wow! Those photos turned out fantastic! I will soon have some fresh money in my hands after selling a bunch of junk, and it might just have to go towards the DP1M and DP2M. I know I keep saying...

Nice, are the full size versions available online somewhere? I'd love to pixel-peep. What stitching software did you use?

I want to point out that it's not normal behavior for the camera writing to the memory card unless all 7 photo buffers are full. Even then, it should be responsive enough to indicate what it's...
