If you're the type of person who's only concern is the final output (nothing wrong with that btw) then yes... the X20 is probably not worth the premium price tag.

Ok... I bit the bullet and bought an EF-20 flash unit and now the external flash problems are solved. The EF-20 is quite an ugly looking thing that clashes hard with the X20's classic aesthetic...

I think most of us here would have no practical need for anything larger anyway. Let us remember that this is a point and shoot camera afterall.

The point here is to get as much info as possible before getting it. If I can find out that the camera is more of a hassle than I prefer then I would like to know this before I plunk down $600 for...

Does anybody know if these issues are resolved if an OEM Fuji flash is used?

These first two are starting to become make or break concerns... 1) Auto metering doesn't work if you have external flash set to "on" (even with no flash mounted) 2) External flash won't fire...

Nope, still doesn;t work. Still have to go into the menu. Just checked again.OVF definitely doesn't work in AF-S mode

Lol! I am very interested in seeing pics of the camera in this set-up. Those are the exact accessories I was planning on getting for my silver.

Very true, but I was trying to bounce the flash off the wall/ceiling. Switching to macro (not super macro) and it worked great - would've been nice to get a bit more enlargement but it worked.

Found one more: -External flash won't fire while in super macro mode.

Day 2 and I still haven't had time to thoroughly go thru the manual yet but  what I have found is that the X20 is quite the quirky little thing. So many different options and settings that need...

For Those Who are Still on the Fence Between Silver or Black... Silver is awesome in person!!! I have never seen the X20 or even the X10 in the flesh so the only thing I had to base my decision on...

I would be all over this thing if it had a exposure compensation dial.
