marzal: The 24-120mm is deffo a full frame lens treetop and an excellent one too. I use mine 90% of the time on my D700 and F6.

I bought it because its the ideal focal length range for me, a good wide angle and also a decent portrait lens too. Its also very sharp. the 28-300 is too much of a compromise. I have read that its not the sharpest of zooms.

vaha: What would you do if you are someone interested in photography, don't shoot that often, would like to have a decent camera and want to go FF?

Would you pay £1955 and pre-order a Nikon D600?

Or would you walk into Jessops and get right now a Canon 5D MkII + a 24-105mm lens for £2199?

Nikon D700's don't seem to be available anymore in Jessops :(

Whatever you do, DO NOT get the Canon, insist on getting the D700 and enjoy the better quality of the lenses and the camera. The best place you can get the Nikon, any Nikon is from www.graysofwestminster.com They also sell secondhand equipment, lenses, bodies etc if you dont want to pay the full asking price

Wyville: There have been a lot of interesting new products lately, but this one is the most interesting for me. Finally an ultra wide angle landscape prime for APS-C users!

I'm starting to like Samyang very much!

It looks a decent lens but I'd doubt if I'd have one even if I went back to a DX body. I prefer the quality of the Nikkor lens anytime even if they do cost more

Actually, Nikon are NOT trying to win the MP race, unless anyone knows better the outstanding winner is down to Hasselblad with their 50MP range but then its not all down to the number of megapixels, its more to how good the the manufacturers can tweak the software. Naturally Nikon lead the field in the small format sector, we all know that to be a fact

mpgxsvcd: Now we are talking. Just 10 more lenses like that and you will catch up to the competition.

As Nikon are far superior to every other make on the planet, there is NO competition

How can you possibly compare Canon with the Nikon? Everyone knows Nikon are far superior, Get with it

Good luck to you rickiford but the thing is will the F100 stand up to the wear and tear the D4 can cope with. You have to pay for quality, it dont come cheap

Great to see Nikon has brought out another winnertwo if you count the D800E, almost like the Hasselblad Digital cameras in resolution. This will leave Canon and anything else beaten without a doubt.I own 7 Nikkor lenses, only hope they'll do the camera justice. If you need higher fps then get a video camera
