I was really joking about changing one's travelling companion, I sort of guessed that one of them might have more of a hold on you than a casual friend! I'm spoiled because my wife is also an avid...

Very nice work! If you needed to be alone to get those, though, maybe you should re-think your choice of travelling companion! ;-)
I'd modify that advice slightly. I tell people, "Take the shot...

Got it... And I only use those numbers as an estimate of how many shots I have...but then, again, I did the same with film! ;-)

Apparently, and the article glosses over this, scene complexity does, too. Not sure how, but it's alluded to in there, somewhere. I didn't know, or at least remember, that it was the noise that...

-
More information. Haven't you ever looked at your file sizes or the image count on your camera when you change ISOs? High ISO file sizes are larger, I guess, because the image count goes down...
-
It's dependent on ISO and a few other factors. The higher the ISO, the fewer images will be loaded to the card.

There are a couple of flaws in your argument. Adobe doesn't upgrade P-shop annually, more like every 18 months. Additionally, you don't have to buy a full version for $600 when you do upgrade,...

I absolutely, unreservedly hate this idea. I guess it's time to look for alternatives, or stick with CS6 for the foreseeable future. I wonder how many customers Adobe will actually lose, though.

Ours has shown a communication error on my wife's 5D, which also is solved by de-mounting the lens. We cannot duplicate the error on any other camera, not her 40D, not my 5D or 60D, the 5D2 we...

Yeah, it was apparently clogged nozzles... I've blown through a lot of ink getting everything unclogged, all the nozzles are free, and I'm still getting reddish prints, at least compared to the...

Were the VC stoppages permanent, or just a hiccup? What had to be done to get it working again?

It's actually better than the older Canon 24-70 f2.8L, and, unlike the Canon's new version, fits under the OP's $1500 limit.

I'm using Pshop to manage the color, I've installed the printing plug-in, the print preview option is pretty useless for some reason because it's showing a preview much darker than what's produced...

I just picked up a Canon 9500 II that was used as the demo printer at my local shop. Not used much, they say... I'm having a problem with the color, which is extremely red. My monitor is...

Ahh, that would explain why it's not compatible with the EOS3, too. Wonder what the issue is with the Nikons?
Really just a matter of curiosity, I've only used my 1n about 4 times in the last 5...

Maybe yes, maybe no. We have both the v1 Canon 24-70 f2.8L and the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 Di VC USD. We've used the Tamron on my wife's 5D where it locks up on an occasional basis (I don't remember...

"You mess up a wedding and you do irreparable damage to the lives of the clients." Not to mention you're own professional well-being... ;-)
I've been looking at the 6D both as a primary and as a...

That was kinda my point, until the advent of the 5D2, the old 24-70 was "good enough" since it out resolved any of the available sensors. And it still ain't nuttin' to sneeze at, even at 25% less...

I beg to differ on the old 24-70 being "not that good as a professional F2.8 zoom should be, and therefore it has been replaced by mark II version." It may not have been as sharp as the newer...
