Commented on Nikon D800 wins Camera Grand Prix 2012 award and public 'best camera' vote news story
With todays's sensor technology you can easily made a 1 MP sensor that clearly wins at pixel level in dynamic range, noise, iso, etc. compared to anything, but doing it at 34 MP gets much more...

Well, I haven't used it yet, but I am pretty confident it surpases my actual D300s in many ways. I never tried a Ferrari, but I do prefer it to my actual car, eyes closed!

In DSLR world it depends largely on the lens itself. I used a D70 (6mpx) + sigma 28-300mm some 8 years ago, and it was not sharp at 300mm (min. f6.3), not at all, but now I use a D300s (12mpx) +...

Commented on Fujifilm provides modified-sensor X10 to address white-orb issue news story
I can't agree with this! Releasing a product like this with this BIG flaw, then trying to negate such an obvious issue, and finally releasing a 100% FAKE fix deserve no credit for fuji. Finally...

And even now, if you go and purchase one of this on a store or on ebay, how would you know if it is a "ok" one? I would dare to buy one except first hand and tested by me on the shop!

FritsThomsen: A stone has a zero pages manual, and it doesn't make it better camera than a sigma or nikon. Sigma has just a better color definition with no moire, etc., thats impresive, but the...

Barney, did you noticed if the new D800 address the long term issue of blowing red channels on nikon bodies? On my old D70 and my actual D300s cameras seems to adjust metering so that the general...

RAW can be set to be 12 or 14 bits, not very noticeable (except for the file size) but you get a little more data to play with (may be a little more dynamic range).

Commented on Nikon announces SB-910 high-end Speedlight news story
Agree! My SB600 lack an "A" auto mode so the power only depends on subject distance, not the color of the suit someone is wearing, and without it (I really can't understand why it is not on my...
