I asked Kirk and RRS about collars for the Nikon 70-200/4 and Kirk indicated they would have a product available in 6-8 weeks. I haven't heard from RRS and don't have any details. But a Kirk...

Not going to happen? We'll see. I'd expect one from both - just like they both do for the Nikon 300/4 AF-S.

The advantage for me with the 70-200/4 taking TCs is that I already have both the TC 1.4 and the TC 2.0 (for use on my 300/4 AF-S and 105/2.8 VR macro).Further, although you do have to pay for a...

I'm waiting for RRS or Kirk to make a tripod collar with an Arca Swiss dovetail. Then I'll order.
-
I don't have the RRS rail, but the Novoflex works perfectly at any angle regardless of weight. I've used the heavy 200/4 macro, as well as the 105/2.8 VR with TC 2.0 with no issues. When using a...

The Novoflex rail is an Arca Swiss Dovetail (just like the RRS macro rail and the Kirk extension rail) and can be put directly in your Markins (or any other standard Arca Swiss clamp, the RRS Lever...

I have both the Kirk macro rail and the Novoflex Castel Q rail. I much prefer the Novoflex rail and when I need to use my collared 200/4 macro (on D7000), I use...

I have the 35/1.8, 50/1.8 and 85/1.8 and use the 35/1.8 most frequently of the three, but would keep the 85/1.8 if I could only have one. I've loaned the 50/1.8 to my Wife for her Nikon 1 camera...

It depends on what you plan on shooting most frequently. I use three Nikon macros (60/2.8G, 105/2.8VR and 200/4) as well as other lenses with extension tubes or bellows on a D7000. Which lens I...

I have both the Novoflex and Kirk macro rails. The Novoflex is definitely superior, but the Kirk allows the quick release to be rotated (I use it with collared lenses). The stability of the...

I have all three the 35, 50 and 85/1.8 G lenses. On a D7000 i use the 35 occasionally for low light and the 85 quite a bit for portraits. The 50 didn't suit me at all and is now on a J1 where...

Was initially curious, but...I have the Nikon 200/4 macro (1185 g) and it can be hand held, add 35% to the weight and a big increase in size (86mm filters vs 62mm) and I don't think it would be...

I've been very happy with the Optech pro-loop straps for my D90, D7000. I like being able to remove the larger padded section when I'm working on a tripod or ground pod. I also like the fact...

Terrific shots! The iridescence in the second shot is stunningly beautiful.

Although I'd rather not shoot in the sun and I'd rather not hand hold, sometimes you have to.

I've used the PB-4 with my D90 and D7000 with a PK-11 to allow enough clearance for the flash and been very happy with it. The quality is excellent and it works perfectly.
-
I use the PN-11 with my 200/4 macro as well as my 300/4 AF-s without problems. You should have no problem with the Zeiss lenses, although it may be a bit long for the 50mm.

Thanks, excellent review. I would like to take exception to 2 points:1 - 16-85 not good in low light - the 17-55/2.8 is always superior. When shooting in dimly lit interiors that don't allow...

You might also consider the new Kirk monopod head. All the Kirk products I use have been well designed and beautifully crafted (like RRS...
