Who needs a plan? live it up
Neodp: Not withstand the efficacy of the update and overall good or not enough improvement(s) then their its a much greater point here....
No one (hardly?) said (possible or not) this camera was deficient in tracking AF or low light comparatively when they were promoting it's first adopter goodness and new pros!
What does that have to do with value? It means you can't know until the camera has been out a while and put through it's paces for the tasks photographers value the most. It begs the question; what benefits matter most? Subjectivity is not a wide... as it is made out to be. Yes there's room for subjective benefits and horses for courses to a point. There no accounting for tastes. Yet that view is completely overblown; from the perspective of new camera design. Yes that should include the user need, that's the photographer that actually takes pictures. Not Gear Acquisition and paper specs alone. There's a lot more to a total camera than that. It's a warning about over priced vanity.
smoke a few joints then read it again, it makes perfect sense to me now.translated Pass me another joint, Fuji guys rule man they just reworked my old camera into the starship enterprise nxtgen 104 focus killing machine. Dude these Fuji guys are radical.
Lee Jay: I'm having a hard time understanding how this could not produce lots of astigmatism, coma, CA and so on. Also, it would seem that aperture would be constant leading to either a very narrow zoom range, some crazy fast f-stops at the wide end, or some crazy slow f-stops at the long end.
Why not go to the perescope lenses like on so many minolta point and shoot cameras.
All that glue does have on positive point vs old screw system, they act as moisture and dust seals. I'd never buy one its too small, im hoping they will come up with a 13". They are made to be portable after all.
HowaboutRAW: Still no Leica M9--no it's DNG files don't simply open with DXO, and then no Samsung NX series support.
Is that the m9 your referring too, could not agree more over priced junk and I congratulate DXO from steering clear. If it was as good as some make it you would not need DXO.
Ok I I'd not read all of the replies but it looks good thanks for the hard work. I must be one of the few who like the blue on black , less strain on the eyes.
One thing that seems to be missing is spell check, you have an audience from around the world and English is not everyone's strong point, nothing to work my buttons more than a clown that insists on telling me I spelt something wrong, there must be others out there feeling the same.
SUPERHOKIE: Whats the point? 4/3 lenses are NOT any smalller or cheaper than full frame lenses. Who in their right mind would get this supposed Pro body and a 12-35 vs a 5d3 and a 35-70? Yeah the 12-35 will give you one more stop in brightness but loses a stop in DOF. With FX sensors F2.8 on a fx sensor will destroy F2 on this new pro body in noise anyways. So what is the point again? Not every product that comes out of japan is gods gift to earth. Look at suzuki and mitsubishi, two brands that are dying in the US.
Ever compared the canon and Olympus 70-300? clearly not. The 100-400 canon is more than 3 times the price and IQ is not reflected in the premium. My E30 KIT two lenses with of camera flash cost less than the 17-55 F2.8 canon lens alone. Add that any lens benefits from a fantastic in camera IS system and that a OM 50 F2 olympus lens and adapter can be had for less than $20 it makes a lot of sense once you get past the brain block that it has to be canon or nikon. As a traveling combo ill leave my canons behind every time its. Why do I have Canons then well the E30 met an unfortunate demise and because the insurance guys could not replace it at the time (no stock of Olympus SLRs) I had to choose between a Canon and Nikon with 2 lenses. Nice enough of them they let me keep the lenses and flash so cant wait for the new camera to be released Ill be back with Olympus in a heartbeat.
The world is just a touch bigger than the US and not everyone has your priority's in photography. I for one would more than likely be an early adopter of a new 4/3 camera. Olympus makes great budget cameras for the mortals who cannot afford a 600mm lens but still wants to be able to make a reasonable photo of what ever 200m away.
gogo2: Is my support for Olympus product makes me support Yakuza in Japan?
If you make a bad photo off goes the finger, one way to teach photography B)
