It's mainly useful if you want shallow depth of field in the middle of a sunny day.
At ISO 100, f/1.8 a sunny day requires around 1/8000 s.

The 7D isn't "lowly", it's the top-of-the-rank camera with that sensor size (15*22 mm). On the other hand, the 6D is the entry-level camera with its particular sensor size (24*36 mm). That's why...

The rating with stars is something which came into DPP when more recent cameras started to support it. Make sure you've updated your DPP to the most recent version.

Some EOS cameras does allow that, although not those intended for disucssion in this particular section. Today's 1D-series allow linking spot metering to some AF points. My EOS 30 allows linking...

More capabilities, better user interface for the 580 EX II over the 430 EX II, and even better if you choose the 600 EX-RT.

Which makes sense, since it's the physical spacing of the rays of light entering the lens which puts limits on the phase detection AF system, not the intensity of the light. Contrast detection is...

It works with back button focusing as well, as long as you keep AF-ON pressed at the same time as you press the trigger button. It's only if focusing isn't active when you release the shutter that...

You have understood that you must have orientation linked AF point enabled, then store AF mode (single point in this case) for all orientations separately, and select and store the registered AF...

Well, an application for the INFO screen is if you have your camera too high up, like on a high tripod, to see the top LCD. Then you can see the settings on the rear LCD, if you press INFO the...

But that's with a Kenko, which fools the camera to think it can AF at f/8. What's really relevant is lifting the restriction at f/5.6 when using a Canon extender as well.

I've used the 7D + WFT-E5B + Kensington Bluetooth adapter + Bluetooth GPS puckĀ + EF extender 1,4X III + EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS II USM for sports photography. That works well.

Quite a big difference in cameras too. Look back at the cost difference between the 5D and the 20D, for example. The extra cost for the 5D was quite a lot for about the same camera.

I didn't write it for you either, I wrote it to give an idea about how I'd go about if I was given the task to take these photos. We all start somewhere, and I did of course not buy that stuff at...

In auto mode, the LCD is often darker right after shooting, since then the light level was set when your face obscured the light sensor.--Anders

NiCd are gone for environmental reasons. The Cadmium is dangerous.

If you are using single point at center, then the image must be cropped, since the upper left of that player (first image) isn't in the center.
Regardless, the AF points in the 7D are quite large,...

For your intended use the 7D is indeed a more appropriate camera. Perhaps not so much the better sealing, but the better viewfinder, frame rate, AF, buffer depth and ergonomics will play a...

You didn't, but the OP did. I got my reply wrong in the sequence.

With a Canon teleconverter, the camera knows AF will not be perfect, so it will not try. Besides, you loose one stop, not two, when using a 1.4X converter.
