Poweruser: What a boring, low quality camera. And this is what the "average guy" is buying?
Unnatural color, poor details, blown highlights. It seems the low end of the market hasnt improved for the last five years except in nonsense features (smile detect, idiotic "art" filters, funky body colors...)
Perfect camera for my wife.. easy to use.
Samuli N: for the curiosity of it, compare sony nex 5n and d800 raw @ISO1600http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonynex5n/14look at the colour palette pixel level noise characteristics for instance
interesting, considering the very high difference is dxo-mark ISO score.
adding nikon d4 @ISO 3200 and sony nex 7 @ISO 800 to the same comparison increases the puzzlement
Looking a the EXIF data the Sony was shot at F/8 with a 50mmF1.4 lens. Who uses that with a NEX-5N??? Its probably a nice Alpha lens with that adapter. It is an optimal setting that most folks will not see when they use that camera.
The D800 was shot with a nice lens but at F/11. Diffraction has set in. Diffraction will be much more of an issue with D800's higher pixel count. I'd like them to reshoot the d800 at F8 or F5.6 and see the differences.
