  • There probably is no huge difference, maybe a very very small difference because of the improved glass and the combination of a better sensor and improved processor. The slightly lower resolution ...
  • If you really want to go down that road, the lens on the HX models is a bit better at the long end. It also feels a lot nicer in the hand with the grip, the WX350 is not really thin anyway (unlike ...
  • Probably not what you wanted to hear but I've been down the same road, tried the WX350, then the HX50v hoping that the better lenses on the HX models would help but both just really are so much ...
  • Replied in Sold my RX100.
The RX100m3 has auto ISO in manual mode if you want it and I think most review sites agree that it's lens is superior to the G7X (less distortion, sharper). So maybe reconsider getting the G7X ;)
  • The exported JPG is 5972x3648 pixels, a 16:9,77 ratio. Quite a lot wider so if you are making 16x9 crops the result is a lot more content in the picture.
  • Just tried it also with the RX100M3, shot in RAW+JPG (but expect similar results with RX10 and RX1): The grey boxes are additional wide shots you can get from the raw. Not available with adobe ...
  • It seems to take a different aspect ratio though, with the native 3:2 ratio of the sensor I suspect that at wide angle there is some vignetting before correction. Lightroom keeps the 3:2 ratio and ...
  • There's the HX60V but the upgrades are pretty small compared to the HX50V. Anyway, did you see the insanely small EVF on that Panasonic? It's borderline useless, super small, low resolution.

Of course, why be consistent in how you name your features... Anyway, good that it's there :)
  • I've seen such a setting on older Sony camera's before but I don't find it on my RX10 or RX100m3. It used to be called exposure simulation and did exactly what you are describing. When you ...
  • I have both (and then some...), what would you like to know as a comparison? I see them as very different camera's but if image quality is your main concern, the GR easily wins over the RX100. No ...
  • I'm not sure about the HX400 but usually the small sensor camera's don't have an aperture in the traditional sense like you know from dSLR's. I'm sure some of them do but usually they just have a ...
  • I wouldn't see a reason why not as it's using the same Camera RAW tech from the previous version and full version of photoshop. PSE 12 is already working fine with the RAW files from my all my RX ...
  • I have it set up as conservative as possible and no auto-review time. This saved a lot of power, without conservative timer, max brightness and always reviewing pictures it drops to about 200~240 ...
  • I have not used the A7 a lot but from memory, the menu seemed to be similar if not identical to the RX1. When going between my RX1/RX10/RX100 (I know, RX overkill :D ), the menu is never confusing ...
  • Plain and simplewired remote control with bulb setting, the RM-VPR1 if you want to stay with Sony or go the cheap 3rd party route like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Mudder-Multi-terminal-DSC-RX10 ...
  • I would still use a high quality filter, not so much for the sealing (might not be needed, not sure) but more to protect the front element. It's still an expensive camera and it's not so easy (nor ...
  • I have a QX100 and it's hardly ever used with the clamp on the phone, mainly because of the points you mention. It's clearly NOT a compact camera replacement. With NFC, the starting of the app and ...
  • Maybe you have set the rear dial (the 4 way toggle) to change image quality and you are turning it by accident? I have mine set to ISO and once in a while I pick up the camera and find it moved a ...
  • Skip that lenshood and get a hoocap so you can also leave the expensive stock lenscap at home so you don't loose it if you ever want to sell the camera. At the same time, it's faster and much more ...
