>"It wasn't about textbook exposures and textbook histograms, or (as you seem to have hinted) that as it wasn't a dSLR shot it shouldn't have scored highly. "

Why does it have to be DSLR to score highly? I have seen many pictures from a point and shoot that are awsome and better then some DSLR photos it's all in if you know how to use it. Your not limited. Hand someone a DSLR and it doesn't make them good. They have to have skill. So In my opion weather it's dslr or not doesn't matter. And Nice shot and nowhere in the rules does it say must show entire bike! The complain button is there for a reason use it or stop complaining!

I am new here. By No Minors I thought they ment anyone Entering the Contest. But if no minors means in the pictures then most entries are out because anyone under the age of 18 is a minor and there are alot of them. Does that also include pictures that have adults and children in the pictures. like walking with child on shoulders or walking with a baby stroller? How about the group of guys in the picture in 6th place doubt they were 18. I don't mean to get carried away here but There is a complain button in which the host will check out the complaint. And disquallify before the voting begins.

Yea this was my first contest entry and I was very suprised by how the voting went. It wasn't nessiarily based off of difficulty or technicality. I know people tend to shy away from paranormal/supernatural type stuff (vampire angle)and go for cute and fluffy normal. I also am not sure how many people actually take the time to look at the full size image (It makes a diffrence) I'm not bitter about my placement or anything it is what it is. (58 &60)My first time entering and the photos are edited with Picnik. But I do wonder how the voting goes and why. I gave you 5 stars though you should be proud of that image!

Great job with 1st place. I'm new to the whole photoshop thing. I just got it. My entry was done with Picnik. It's nice to see what Photoshop can do. Showing the work in progress steps is helpful to people so they understand the extent of the work you have done. Bravo

When you look at the full size photo you can still see the car in the black of the picture. And the reflection in the glass. If you don't look at it full size you can't tell.
