Just to stop you worrying you've got an admiring stalker, I've given you a 'like' for repeating the irrelevant iPhone demo with the giant paw on the diminutive budgie. *
* No budgies were harmed...

For the implausibly attractive price, it seems such a good optical performer. Is there any downside at all (colour clash aside) to using it on the Panasonic bodies?
-
No adult with any self-respect should really have a cat gallery on DPR, especially if it's only to appease the laughable low-flying argument that nobody but gallery afficianados are entitled to...
-
Do I even have a gallery? I did once post a corrective cat image in a discussion claiming that all iPhone photos were necessarily crap: maybe you mean that one - the one with the giant paw on the...
-
You'd like it even more stopped down and with a deeper focus plane.
-
Yes, the cat is a star and the striking pose is simply begging for a close-up. Just not at f.1.8 and from that impractical range. The unintended consequences of that shooting decision are writ...
-
And the OP's demonstration in how NOT to execute a shallow depth of field close-up could have been presented in the first place without the title telling me twice how 'good' it was. Heaping...
-
TWO uses of the word 'good' in your title (for others to judge?) but undermined by the image you're hyping so unquestioningly. How is that extreme choice of aperture at all appropriate for the...
-
Thanks, Smatty (and your sumptuous architectural shots are a great advertisement for this fine little lens). I've never been entirely sure how relevant distance scales are on 'rebadged' legacy...
-
I can't let you be the only one to say it - yes, a really arresting image that made me go straight to the website to see more of Mark's work with musicians. The apparently 'awkward pose' that...

How accurate is the distance scale on the lens barrel - is it reliable for zone focusing or just a matter of trusting to the enormous DOF?
-
Easier to do that than address parasitical trolling, I suppose. The gratuitous plugging of the X-***** sensor does seem to have dried up, though, so maybe his sacrifice wasn't entirely in vain.
-
I don't think so, no. They just happen to be two of the most consistently interesting and generous spirited contributors to the forum. I'm not surprised they turned out to be kindred spirits...in...

That would imply a DSLR form factor, like the Panasonic GH series. Don't forget Nikon has a very respectable pedigree in rangefinder-type designs, which wouldn't quite as obviously cannibalise...
-
...and then from a different POV it's revealed the gig is in fact in full swing, but they are playing to an indifferent audience of typically tone-deaf Lancastrians! Nice shots, sir.

As in so many areas of life, context is everything. Look how the meaning of the apparently rehearsing trio (they should never have sacked the keyboards player) changes drastically with a different...

'Not so good Fujifilm'? The last one, the almost vignetted dramatic landscape, has turned out fine. If you're dissatisfied with the other two, you should probably look more towards your own shot...
-
What I want to know is why all us conspiratorially 'negative' posters, who have clearly made it our mission to suppress any approving Fuji commentary, are buying the X-series gear? Do we even know...

Have you noticed the strange effect (don't click-enlarge) of concentrating on the right of frame while scrolling? Is there a doppleresque name for that?
