  • I made this move few weeks ago and couldn´t be happier. The only negative point is the filter size (82mm). I was not too happy about the Canon at the longer end while the Sigma is very sharp (at ...
  • I had one on a crop camera. Was pretty good on a crop, or I had good copy. Sold it for more suitable general lens on a crop but purchased another one after I had upgraded to full frame. My ...

  • Just curious... in you equipment list Tamron 24-70 is listed, not Canon 24-70 4. Have you changed lenses and is so, what´s your take on them?
  • Have you looked at Sigma 24-105 Art or Tamron 24-70 2.8 VR?
  • One is always learning… OK, on my 24L I can set the infinity focus in +10C during daylight, tape it and use it in -10C at night few days later with good results. Might be that fast stop works ...
  • Thanks mate! Obviously a sharp lens. Still missing if the infinity has a fixed stop, or, as I have to do with my 24L, find the infinity in daylight and then lock the focus ring with a tape.
  • Created discussion thread Sigma 20 1.4 Art - Aurora Borealis
Have been thinking if the new Sigma 20 1.4 Art might not be the ideal lens for Northern Lights capture? As far as I understand the lens has a fast stop at infinity which is a very useful feature ...
  • In my case, the fall color is green :-). Always enjoyable when the nights starts to get longer and the Aurora season starts for real. Bruararfoss at night But the "real" fall colours are realy ...
  • You might be right :-). That said, I let the 35L go, preferred the Sigma Art… believe it or not, for better focus consistency and sharper @ 1.4. But holy or not, I was starting to believe that the ...
  • Yes, I agree, GB (Joe) gets the most out of every lens and has a unique style. For me, it’s so much easier to use the 35 for effect than the 24… but I might just be lazy :-). Then I’m referring to ...
  • Created discussion thread 24 1.4 - what for?
For the majority of my pictures, I’m using prime lenses. This is particularly true for focal lengths 35 and over, less so under 35 as my 16-35 L IS is becoming the main workhorse at these focal ...
  • Interesting answers. Even though some are like me, even with similar or exactly the same lenses to constitute their “whole trinity”, people are more pragmatic (what lenses will serve me the best ...
  • Created discussion thread Today’s holy trinity in lenses?
Few years back the holy trinity in lenses were considered to be 35L, 85L and 135L… at least by some. Now the landscape has changed, Sigma has entered the market with the Art series and some prefer ...
  • Interesting story. And very good pictures. I’m investigating suitable setup for underwater photography and this looks like a good starting point. Good luck with your future UW photography
