Good on Fujifilm.. Again.
It would be nice to get my hands on the lens but it is still not available here in Japan where I live.
DPReview, you announcement preceded the announcement email I just got from Fujifilm regarding this update by about 45 minutes.. You guys are fast!
Ha.. best thing about this was that the Yankee's got spanked by the Red Sox on opening day.. in the Bronx!
Oh, to the person below that asked S.I. not to do any swimsuit issues.. Sorry to inform you but you might want to check out this years addition.. Last pages have instagram shots of the ladies... all and all, not too bad.
Yep, I'm having me one of these.. Fujifilm makes another winner.
Hum.. guess I shouuld scrap my idea of the Shamu cam.. probably wouldn't work out well...
Richard Murdey: I hadn't realized he was only 10 days in the job.
One the one hand I admire his sticking to principles.
On the other hand. 10 million. 10 days. .....
A more careful reading of the text and it appears that only thing he will be donating to charity are the proceeds of the book, not the settlement money. I'm not discrediting or belittling it, but just setting the record straight.
dmanthree: Don't be so harsh. I won a $50 bet with a fool who claimed one of the "shark" photos was real. I'm still laughing, he's still p!ssed.
Thank goodness for the foolish and gullible in this world.. without them I would be broke..
Imagefoundry: $5 on X-Pro2 announcement in Jan 2013. Otherwise this roadmap doesn't make much sense.
You guys are looking pretty smart right now.. your musing 3 months ago are now coming to pass! Now, go get yourselves a cookie, you deserve it for good sooth saying.. :-)
Along with all these updates I wish they would find a way that would allow custom naming of the user presets.. there is a bank of 6 presets but I'll be darned if I can remember what the heck I set them too.. Getting old ain't for the feint of heart.
As an Xpro-1 owner I'm heartened to see some of the benefits will reach us via the V.2.0 Firmware. I'm happy with the Xpro-1 but tweaks are always welcome to make it better.
Fujifilm again may steal the show... Good on them.
GPW: I have never followed any so called rules of photography and I have won a number of contests. photography is an art not squares and lines.
My guess is that even if you were not following these rules consciously, your innate sense of composition applied the rules for you. Anyone with natural aesthetic tastes doesn't even need to think about it really, which I guess you have if you won the awards. Go back and analyze your winning images and I bet you will see that your images had followed one or more of these rules. I doubt very much that one of your winning images was, say for example, a bulls-eyed image. (subject stuck right in the middle). You should celebrate.. you are able to do without thinking what so many of us have to grapple with on each image.
