  • You can do it two ways. Calculate the difference in diagonals and use that as "crop factor".  This is how crop factors usually are calculated, but I find it a bit "unimportant", that diagonal. ...
  • Replied in No.
No. E/FE mount lenses have a flange distance (mount flange to sensor) of about 17mm or so. Canon EOS mount has a flange distance of 44mm. No one makes adapters that are negative in length.
  • Replied in Anyway.
Ok, that is then solved. You wrote mirrorless, but you did not mean to exclude cameras with mirror. See then my above image: FF sensor with 55mm f1.2 Nikkor on Canon EOS 6D :-) Ok. There have been ...
  • FF lenses do not do worse than APS-C lenses on APS-C cameras. FF lenses usually do worse at borders, and those borders get cropped on APS-C. And DXO "results" are most untrustworthy. I'll leave it ...

And that lens on a camera with mirror? ps: that helios lens is 58mm... your post would exclude that lens too, not just my camera with mirror... ;-)
  • I don't have to come up with any evidence. It is in plain sight. With many lenses the DXO "results" are totally nonsensical. And when other, more reliable websites show what a lens actually does, ...
  • DXO is a sad lens "review" site. Pretty useless. No wonder you typed what you typed.
  • Replied in Anyway.
A bit silly, to make a thread about "adapted 50mm on mirrorless" photos. Mirrorless has little meaning, except that there is no mirror in the camera. So what? Adapted lenses, I get that. A certain ...

don't shoot nice people. Only shoot the cr@p ones. And don't you like the images because of the photographers, or actually the lens? That is the question you have to answer for yourself.
  • http://www.zyoptics.net/product/zhongyi-lens-turbo-adapters-for-fuji-x-mount-cameras-fx/ Will give you close to 35mm FF equivalent on Sony APS-C E-mount. or https://www.fotodioxpro.com/lens-mount-a ...
  • Created discussion thread ** Winners MC 471 - Round ***
Honourable Mentions: Beautiful industrial photo from HSC4711 Beautiful oil? images from irvcobb and Baneling. CPnock's logs are nice examples of less than perfect roundness, which makes it stand ...
  • Ok, that makes it the 1st version (prior to better coatings on the "C" version. So. lower contrast due to the mirrors and the coatings (especially shooting against light). Again, without actual ...
  • That can' be right. The 500mm f8 does not date back to 67 years ago? Ok. But we can't have an opinion, since you do not show any samples. These lenses are not the most sharp, and this Nikkor is not ...
  • Hopefully sometime tomorrow I will have picked the winners. Thanks for participating.
  • Ok. There are at least 4 50mm lenses from Nikon (Nikkor) that AF. Be more exact? Don't rely on DXOmark (most meaningless and sometimes plain nonsensical "results"). Read other lens reviews, and ...
  • Replied in Just get it.
not at certain distances, for sure. And the number of aperture blades does not make or break smoothness of bokeh at all.
  • No, I use it on my 6D.
  • You are welcome. I trust that you know that if the lens is not converted to Ai you should not mount it on your D750? I also have an old pre-Ai Nikkor-Q 135mm f3.5. They are sharp, especially with ...
  • Replied in Lines per mm
It depends on the sensor used to measure. On a D3X, 50 LP/mm is very high.: http://www.lenstip.com/390.4-Lens_review-Carl_Zeiss_Otus_55_mm_f_1.4_ZE_ZF.2_Image_resolution.html
