Maybe you should not take DXO all too seriously. That Nikkor is a nice little lens, but come on. It is not spectacular.
Also, sharp from edge to edge... depends on what you call sharp.
Here is a...

AI Servo is for tracking moving subjects, and the AF never "rests". It can be quite problematic to shoot small steady subjects in AI Servo.
Try again with a normal AF setting (one shot). You most...

I made this image this weeks as black and white image, but for this challenge I left a touch of colour.
Two images stitched, taken with Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 EX DC.

Nice that you liked the images, btw that purple haze image had its title before your challenge :D .

Nonsense. It is a very nice lens.
Nonsense again. Sigma of late is doing well quality wise.
Then you must have had an oddly bad sample, which can happen with Nikon lenses too (just read the forum...

And so-so contrast, and pretty unattractive bokeh.

Exactly, it is the design/choice of the glass elements which make it big and heavy. The old 35mm f1.4 had a design which concentrated on smaller size. And my EF 35mm f2 also is the same size and...

You have an APS-C camera (60D...). The corners of the Voigtlander (and the Canon) are just fine on APS-C. On FF the Canon has a bit better corners (but not by all that much).
The Canon's main...

How do you calculate the focal length? That is the problematic part (for me at least). One must know the front nodal (or principal) point for that, and that is unknown. I know that with tele lenses...

Debunk what exactly? The OP blames focus breathing on IF.
Now you blame it on rear elements being used to focus....
So what am I supposed to "debunk"?
Focus breathing is the following...

A few lenses for you to consider:
Nikon 35mm f1.4 AI-s. I know that might sound odd, but it is sharp from corner to corner when you stop it down to f2.8, and it is not a "monster" like the AF-S...

How have you noticed? At MFD the 70-200 II is about 135mm.
At MFD the 80-400 AF-S is way down to about 250mm.
The Sigma 70-200mm OS goes down to 135mm just like the Nikon, at MFD.
No. The lenses...

Voigtlander 28mm f2.8 SL II review:
http://www.lenstip.com/369.11-Lens_review-Voigtlander_Color_Skopar_28_mm_f_2.8_SL_II_Summary.html
Compare it to the Canon EF 28mm f2.8 IS USM...

Yeah, all that is ok.
Ok, that os just nonsense. The Sigma 35mm f1.4 is a lot of things. Very sharp, relatively affordable, well built. But it does not have great bokeh! Its bokeh can actually be...

I must agree with Oilman there. The number of entries is not bad at all, and it is nice to see which songs come up (known and unknown), and to see the associated images. Very nice MC!

Nice lenses, although if I had Nikon I would prefer the Nikkor 40mm f2.8 DX micro over that 35mm Tokina, for its smooth bokeh.
Odd... I do not think a close up lens will do much at all on a wide...
