  • Voted! The light and shapes of the leves make for a beautiful work of art.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Life and Limb
I love the negative space of this image. It shows a Samburu man up a tree cutting branches and the interplay of the tree limbs with the mans arms and legs create fascinating shapes and angles.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Nails
It is not quite macro but rather a close up of some nails left behind while doing some construction.

  • At Almado every year, each Nomadic Rendille clan village (Goob) gathers all its camels and goat and sheep together. Two fires are light before dawn at the edge of the village and the animals, women and children are driven between them while the men stand with raised sticks and pray for them all. At the start of the cemrimony, as the sun rises, one man blows the cerimonial Kudu horn that is used only on this occasion or to warn of approaching enemies. Taken in Korr, Kenya

  • Thank you for the review. I have been looking forward to seeing the capabilities of the FluCard in practice. I just wish it could work on my K5 II.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Samburu Girl in Town
This Samburu girl was leaning against the rough concrete plaster wall of one of Kurungu's few shops. At first she was very shy of the camera but when others gathered around to see their photo on my LCD she was eager for me to take a photo.

  • Submitted a challenge entry The Crossing in the Desert
My wife was driving in front of me in the dawn desert light and I managed to capture this image of a Rendille nomad girl hurrying across the road to round up her scattered sheep. As I raised my camera to capture her the Bird decided he wanted to cross the road too.

  • Thanks, I found this very helpful. I want to make it plain that my aim is not to be cause an argument or offend as much as for me (and hopefully others in similar situations) to  get a clearer ...
  • Thanks for the article, I'll take a look. I do think the problem has to do with the lack of definition or the broadness of the 'lable'.
  • Created discussions What is 'Street' Photography?
I live in Africa in a small village and with a mere track through the center of town I have come to wonder what we mean by street photography. If I lived in New York or London and walked down the ...
  • I can't really add to the advice but I have been quite unimpressed by the reviews on the limited's in the 20-40mm range. Would one not be served better by the highly regarded sigma 35mm f/1.4 or ...
  • Thank you all for the opinions! I appreciate the feedback very much. The rangefinder ish look is very appealing but perhaps I am not being very sensible. I have the kit lens and 2 sigma lenses . ...
  • Commented on Horn of Africa: Their People challenge

The size for submission is 1600px on the long side but my photo keeps being rejected and it is 1080px. I am afraid I do not know what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help?

  • Hi all, I live in the bush in Africa and and my requirements are for a Tough (with a purposeful capital T) camera that can handle high ISO. I particularly shoot 'street' and portrait. (Street in ...
