Nope nothing better available. Plus side is they are matched and both extra high quality. Down side is they don't fit all other lenses... if that's important to you. You also cannot stack them....

Long live the last Minolta designed camera... 850/900.
Long live the photographers who appreciate them too!

Hi Nikolai. That's interesting and surprising to me. I was just checking this thread at Dyxum confirming your JPG claim. And it also seems the 14bit is automatically engaged for single shot...

On the a99, I know you need single shot and RAW for 14bit... But can you still shoot the accompanying JPG in smallest resolution along with it? Does it retain the 14bit RAW?
I have a client who...

I personally don't see any value bringing anything NEX close to an Alpha line. I tried it for a year with the NEX7 and honestly, the menu and ergonomics were so awful that it remains my one...

How is it that Sony, the sensor maker, looks worst of all?

How is it that Sony, the sensor maker, looks BY FAR worst of all?

Surely Sony is preparing to sell the Alpha back to KM...
Or better yet, since patent is free on A-Mount, Minolta should just create a new pro line body. Leave the kiddy toys to Sony. Let ole' Max...

Wait... didn't they get the memo? I thought the iPhone killed any need for pro photo workshops. And the poor togs left don't have time for classes because they're too busy whining about the state...

Also, as I understand it, the a55 does not have focus peaking, but does have magnified view. Is that correct? I don't care about peaking at all. I never found it accurate enough. But magnified...

That's great news. I really like the a55 and have considered it too for the purpose intended. Its EVF extension is the best of all Sony's and I prefer it... Very disappointed actually that the...

What system would you move to?

I'm sure either of your suggestions would work for others. Can't mount my glass on the Canon's or the phone.

Thanks john farrar. I agree about the tripod use, though I haven't tried. I'm only concerned with the waist level view with underhanded control.

Thanks TomHJ... That's what I'd hoped for. I don't understand why the 77/99 prevents this, unless the orientation is mandated by the top swing preference. Wish I could get a65 style on a full...

Does a55 not allow the LCD to swing out further left to match the vertical orientation?
I'm really liking the idea of this because it seems I could leave the hoodman magnifier on permanently for...

Hi tqlla. Your display looks workable. But one thing I like about the a65/57, and CaNiSonic style swing out is the ability to use the viewfinder immediately without having the move the...

I'm excited at all the great deals of a57's and a65's soon to come. It's helped me to determine sticking with the a900 for now, and not getting an a99 specifically because it cannot do something...

Separate in spirit.
In it in body. But not of it in spirit.
Where did Christ limit himself from going? Where did he limit the apostles from going?
How does one do that if limited to where one...
