I'd consider it if:
You intend to mainly use autofocus.
You are not using it professionally( Start up can be delayed causing missed shots).
It will not be primarily for landscape.Henry F. Smith...

I have only a XP1 for comparison.
I shoot the X100s as a companion to the XP1 which as you know, has the same sensor as the XE1.
I shoot mainly RAW, and work towards whatever "Look" I desire in PP....

Bob, the only caveat I've begun to notice is that the battery life seems less than the x100. Have lots of spares( happily their cheap).

Nice of you to comment. I do find it helpful prior to purchase that there are now multiple sites with gear reviews. Just trying to add to the available info.Henry F. Smith JrVisit my blog at...

Thanks folks. I appreciate the compliments.
Though it may seem all the same to people from a broader perspective, those shots were actually taken near to my home on the western edge of the Poconos...

I offer to the forum, my review of the X100s which I purchased about 6 weeks ago to replace my X100.

That's fine. I haven't found it necessary with most camera files, to sharpen outside of ACR. That being said, C1 produces a Trans X Raw file conversion that requires very little additional...

Merci.
Some time has elapsed since this thread was active.
Now I have a second trans X sensor- an X100s.

The X100 has turned out to be my main event camera. It does great work in natural light, and the 35 MM lens is wonderfully sharp and a great focal length for this kind of work. I love its ability...

I have not tried Dxo. Too expensive for my tastes, and doesn't support cameras I use.Henry F. Smith JrVisit my blog at http://henrysmithscottage.com

Great image Deed, I love how the HDR effect looks "just right".
I haven't noticed C1 to be more processor intense than CS6 but I'll pay more attention.Henry F. Smith JrVisit my blog at...

That seems to also be a feature of Express. Hard to tell as I haven't purchased it yet>Henry F. Smith JrVisit my blog at http://henrysmithscottage.com

Given that I have the full version of photoshop, I have been trialing the express version of C1. It seems to do everything I need to do, and for $100, it's not a huge amount of money.
I am also...

I'm not totally happy that this is the case, as I have yet to actually purchase C 1.
Guess I'll have to.

I'm glad to hear I'm not crazy( at least about this situation). I have to admire the natural colors I've been getting out of C1 with all of my cameras. This one file in particular was the most...

I have acquired an XF 14mm and have been shooting with it.
I have also done what I hope will be my last raw converter comparison( please!), between C1 7 and ACR 7.4
Results of both experiences are...

I am hoping by the end of the day to have an article ready on my experiences with the XF 14mm, including some shots converted in C1 express and ACR 7.4. I'll let people know when it's...

I suspect it's going to be useful/necessary to maintain a couple of differnt RAW converter options for trans x files. I currently use ACR for files where detail is less an issue, but processing...

I see that ACR 7.4 and lightroom 4.4 final release are out. Looking forward to testing. Apparently they're better than the release candidates.IC the

Actually, I rather like it. Mine is wickedly sharp with good bokeh, I find it a wonderful lens for portraiture, landscape and slow PJ work (autofocus does take time).
