Thanks for the detailed review, Chris! I'm glad that you're enjoying your K5IIs so much.I'm trying to decide whether to take the plunge and upgrade my K20D or picking up a K-01 (since they're so...

I don't know the answer to your question regarding image circle size of Pentax film-era lenses, but consider that the sensor will likely be moving around semi-randomly as a result of SR, rather...

The following article states that the camera sensor is unchanged: http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/09/12/Apple-iPhone-5-announced So which is it, depreview?
-
I agree - from what we know right now, the sensor is unchanged. This article is poorly researched and I would've expected better from dpreview. For one, when and where did Apple state that the...

I don't think we can conclude that the sensor is larger based on the info in the EXIF. In fact, I believe the difference could be due to rounding errors. Firstly, from the EXIF the actual focal...

Really? Why is this? In my experience, the general consumer here is quite ignorant about Pentax (though probably no different compared to consumers in other markets), however enthusiast...

Thanks for the link! Have you tried the Samyang 35/1.4 or the new 24/1.4?

I was thinking it was strange that I could see some noise in the first photo, then I realized that it was taken at ISO 4000! It looks better than ISO800 from my K20D!

Thanks Dale for posting your first impressions of the K30. I think this LV mirror flop would be a deal-breaker for me, as I was hoping to use my MF lenses in LV mode with focus peaking (rather than...

I agree that images taken with the DA70 have that "magic".I've not used the DA21, but I have the DA35/2.4 which I also like a lot. For wider I have the DA16-45.

Jim, I'm eager to hear about your findings. Thanks.

Xiaomao, these are two fantastic portraits! Did you purchase the Samyang in China? If so, can you tell me where you got it?

Here's a fun comparison:

Interesting, I thought I noticed a purplish cast with my M50/1.7 on digital, though it could've been a WB issue. FWIW I haven't noticed the same thing with my A50/1.4.
-
I agree, the first two shots are stellar (the rest are very good too).
-
Yes, it is. I'll stick to my original 70-200/2.8 EX (no-DG, no-Macro, no-HSM, no-OS). :)

Unfortunately that appears to be damage from fungus. As long as the fungus has been removed there isn't much you can do. The good news is that this shouldn't have a noticeable effect on your...

Hi Dean, the OS version is a totally new design. See:

What an excellent post, Gerry!I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing onto your post, but I'm a bit pressed for time...I can vouch for the DA35/2.4. If you don't mind getting close to your subject,...
