Im a beginner, but I really love photography.
xarcex: I just wish WP8 wasn't that bad, otherwise I'd buy this in a blink.
Combatmedic870, unless you dont know what's what, then I suspect those rumors abt funboys trolling forums & getting paychecks from the "open source" consortium are real?
Windows PHONE has 145.000 apps available, while win8 store (yes the one that got started with win8 some months ago, already have 50+k apps).
This is a very weird point we have reached to say at least... More and more "photography news" about iphone cover the first page of dpreview so often, that it started getting annoying. IF and only if, iphone was a pure camera phone (get my hint?) then I wouldn't have a problem. But this unjustified hype over apple's I-can-do-everything-but-nothing-I-do-is-really-something device becomes more than suspicious. There are thousands of sites for smartphones, we really dont need dpreview trying to convince us that iphone is a good camera. It's not. Period. Please get back on track doing what you do best. Covering the amazing world of photography...

Hasn't anyone noticed how the digital camera market has changed last months, with practically all manufacturers presenting small, everyday cameras sporting huge (compared to the recent past) sensors? A year ago, it was great seeing 1/1.7'' sensors in digital cameras, now this is a "no biggie".
Am I suggesting that a phone manufacturer somehow managed to haste the camera manufacturers into presenting great products, we would otherwise have to wait for some more years to see? Because that would clearly be a Nokia victory...
hahaha so true...

the rules specifically mention that a camera with sensor up to 2/3' can be used. Last time I checked the said olympus IS a compact with such sensor ( http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Olympus/oly_c8080wz.asp )--http://www.flickr.com/photos/yiagosm/
