It's simple, just buy 2 D600's so your covered for the 2 weeks while it's away being cleaned every 3000 shots :-)
Sad to see them go but happy i spent my vouchers last week.
marbo uk: Rip off Britain
Who would buy this in the UK when the D800 is only £250 more?
The D800 rrp was £2399 now at £2279.
It even went up for a bit due to so called pricing error.
So give it 3 months and maybe the D600 will drop to £1749

marbo uk: Some sticky tape should fix that.
No they were made properly the 1st time :-)
Some sticky tape should fix that.
cgarrard: Does sound decent afterall. I'll be honest, my first thought was "sheesh, really Sigma, yet another redeux of this lens???", but after reading the specs etc. it seems like a legit replacement/update and a decent performer.
I'd need to see its optical improvements (if any) and AF speed, build, before coming to a final conclusion, but on paper it seems pretty legit. Bit slow on the long end though, especially with Nikons recently announced 18-300mm f/3.5-f/5.6.

Commandment No. 6: Thou shalt not believe you have to have expensive f2.8 zooms to get great photos.
www.markbondphotos.com all with cheap zooms
Expensive for entry level. £699 in th UK.
There`s better available already for much less ££££
Wubslin: Another failure from the desperate Nikon. No great surprise...

djmm: If I send my camera battery back to Nikon, can I still take pictures without battery inside the camera?
LOL
Nikon are just punching canon while their down now.
An entry level camera with more pixels than any canon camera in their range and the image quality to back it up. Comparing noise to the 5dm3, it`s not far behind at all. The D400 is going to be an animal :)
This is impressive.
Compare this to the canon 5dm3 iso 4000 sample and this has so much more detail and less noise. This is gonna sell well.
Wubslin: Another winner far Canon! I wonder what Nikon is going to do now. Maybe it would be better to break up the company and give the money back to the shareholders?
Lol, are you living in a parallel universe :)
Looks great, i just wish i could afford all those pixels.
All very good. But will it blend?
Fantastic photo. I hope this is hanging on your wall :)
