NickNock: X-E1 has horrible ergonomics. It looks that they have done worst with this one. There is less space for the thumb and the grip is pathetic. It is such an immature product. May be in 5-8 years they will produce a better camera. It seems that they need to change their designers. I am so happy that I changed my X-E1 for the OMD EM1. It is a real camera vs a bad designed toy.
In my opinion, XE1 has ideal ergonomic. Oly EM1 ergo also is very good. It has more noisy sensor, but excellent IS compensates this - you can use 1/20 without any problems.
Munene: I need some straight advice, please: GX7 or XE2?
Background: I used to shoot with my Leica M6. I do mostly street photography. I love my GF1, but am ready to upgrade. Two issues: I do not like the way the light meter reads in GF1 (or I use it wrong), why not a match like the old days (needle, diodes)? I don't know if the exposure is correct until I press the shutter? Again, this could be me. The XE2 has a shutter dial on the camera, but how does this affect reading the light meter inside the viewfinder? THIS IS A BIG ISSUE.
So, GX7 or XE2? I am not too concerned with video or wifi or whatever, just good images. Does the fuji sensor trump the 4/3, end of conversation? I sometimes enlarge to 20X24. My old Leica (and Canon FTb), I have prints 4' X 6'! Both are awesome (not really planning more, I used to print at a lab).
Unfortunately I cannot find a store that carries both for me to look at (or even one of them, where I live).
Here is what I shoot: www.visualquotations.comThank you!
Really we now pay 150 Euro for Lightroom 5, and they force us to buy a new version every year. It is same 10 Euro per month, even less. But I have to be connected to the internet every minute to use this software?
I like very much EOS-M after firmware update. IQ is very good, AF speed is not the best, but like many bulky DSLR. They have very promised project.
I am very impressed by RX1R and RX100II, but consider QX, RX10, and new A7 as a mistake of Sony.
No sense. Old sensor, nothing attractive.
You should never trust any company, which asks your personal data and promise "reliable security" of them. Nobody audits that these claims are true. When you invest money in shares, you examine audit reports before. When you give your personal data to some company, you just trust to their words, that all will be ok. Where is logic here?
This camera can have reason only in case of use new sensor. Old one is not good enough.
Perfect! I never supposed so high quality!
Excellent camera. I use it with Leica lenses 1.4 35mm. I like it very much. Colors are different from Leica M9, but also quite good. Ergonomic is super. Nex7 makes prefect picture, but ergonomic is weak. MD-5 has relatively big noise level. I think that pictures in Dpreview compare tool for MD-5 is not correct, in reality noise level is much bigger. I need in raw developing software for Fuji for Mac. Lightroom develops Fuji's raw files very badly.
Recently have bought it. Fantastic quality of picture and very convenient control system. Nice stylish design. I already have X-10 and this camera is not worse, but more compact. Having a lot of cameras, I like all cameras of X-series of Fuji very much.
Absolutely disagree with such camera choice. Fuji X-10, Leica X-2, Sony Nex-7 (it have size of compact) are the best compact cameras.
F800 is great name from the past! Hope, new camera will be praiseworthy its famous predessor
I see on Nicon and Cannon mirrorless cameras, and understand, that these companies are not competitive in this segment of market
I want this camera to test quality of image and speed of focus. Very promised features. I have NEX-7 and only thing is irritating me is user interface - so far from classic. Let them look on last Fuji cameras (X-100, x-10 and X-Pro). I really don't understand why Sony use this bulky user interface system so obstinently.
Samsung is on right way! Their new phones almost perfect. And new camera also (but almost) . Let them see on Fuji X-10 and analyze differences. They need one small step to be the first!
Great camera. I compare it with my CCD medium format Phase One 40 Mp+ 645 body. Of course, medium format is better on low ISO, but the price difference! D800 is the best DSLR now. Fast enough, very big DR, best IQ. But who will buy it? Professional quality is still medium format. Non professionals don't need in so many pixels, and need in more compact size and weight.
Fantastic good pictures with 35 1,4. And 50 1,4. Especially in low light with long exposure and low ISO. But this article contains nothing about subject of it. Useless.
I see that difference is not big (with orbs and without). I consider X-10 as a brilliant camera, and don't recommend anybody to renew firmware or sensor.
I like this camera very much, Olympus was my first serious camera (it was film camera). Weight and size are perfect, and focus speed almost like big SLRs. Menu and DR controls are weak, but I recognized that I chose it every time then going to street. This camera is very good competitor to the brilliant Fuji X-10.
