I vote for "Cat House" :)

Well, since you're in a Mac forum, you probably won't get many suggestions to keep a PC :) However, having moved to a Mac about a year ago, I have to say I would do it again.

If you carry everything suggested, probably a small van to move it around :)

With all due respect, you're way over-thinking this. Buy the fastest setup you can afford and press on. :)

Having been a beta tester for Nikon once already(D800), I would suggest neither until 6 - 12 months after the D610 is introduced.

Even when not being constrained to travel light, I am a big supporter of one body/one lens for foreign trips. If it's a photo trip from the beginning I'd take what I wanted, but for a trip with a...

After posting, it occurred to me you might find this thread about increasing ram to 16 gb in a MackBook Pro to be of interest. Since ram is soldered in place in the MBA's you can't increase it.

I have an 11" MBA I use on certain travel occasions. If I were constrained to a Mac Air for photo processing I would select the top of the line. You just don't hear people with buyers remorse...

Congrats! I hated it the first time too :) And thanx for posting, it helps new users understand their options.

I agree with Petruska. The D7000, with it's smaller sensor, only makes use of the central portion of the image circle produced by your lens.

Since you are experiencing a technical issue it's best to eliminate all possible variations when testing, one step at a time. Might I suggest you start out by visiting something like Outback...

Perhaps, if "soft and blurry" is the result of focus issues rather than lens issues or field curvature. Search preview for "D800 left focus" and see if anything looks familiar. Testing methods are...

Decided I needed to take my own advice :) I'm on my way to the railroad museum to make photographs instead of sitting in front of a computer posting useless drivel. :)

This topic has been explored extensively enough that several useful methods have been identified. A repeat of everything useful to know would take up a great deal of space. Might I suggest a...

I notice that you have been posting in this forum for around 5 months and have run up over 500 posts. Welcome to the forum and thanx for your effort to contribute. Couple of things to consider....

Sounds like time for another trip to the service center. From your experiences it's clearly not suitable for our use.
By the way, I admire what sounds like a reluctance on your part to just eBay...

I'd like to request that you post an example. It will assist with evaluation. In the meantime, as a WAG, some possibilities are bad memory card, bad card reader, bad USB cable, or a sticky shutter.
