Najinsky: LOL. That one wouldn't have even made my keeper list, let alone my portfolio. I'm going to have to check my archives to see what hidden treasures I missed.

Sometimes I think I 'get' the concept of art, but then the ethanol wears off and I'm just left with a headache.

You should explain, if you get it... pls explain what's behind that marvellous image!

Any camera is compatible with "cheap, expired film"... gosh, you are linked to DPReview and you should have a minimum of background knowledge...

"which includes three top smartphones we've now reviewed more thoroughly than anyone else on the web in terms of the feature we find more important -- the camera: iPhone 5, HTC One X and, just out today, Samsung Galaxy S3"

It seems that Connect behaves like Siri...

David Rosser: I really think that the only satisfactory way of testing lenses is independent of camera using equipment such as this
http://lenses.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/carl-zeiss-camera-lenses/industrial_lenses/products/lens-measuring-technologies.html#inpagetabs_41a6-0
I am sure that with the backing of Amazon DPReview could afford to purchase such equipment. The Zeiss lens testing equipment also has one important attribute that your methodology does not - it test the lens at infinity focus, your tests cover near focus only.

C'mon Joseph, he wrote "such as": K8 is famous even among amateurs, it doesn't mean he really suggest them to buy a K8... :)

BTW, K8 can reach 160 p/mm, for today's cameras with AA filters it's more than enough I think. Moreover we are actually using an even older Ealing and we have (almost) no problem with CSC cameras since we can test Sony E, Samsung NX, Fujifilm X and so on... tricky but not impossible ;)

Izu: I strongly suggest DPReview staff to be less sarcastic, especially Mr. Britton: reader's complaints are much valuable because even if some of you think like "if you don't like don't read", in the end your salary depends on readership, even if we don't pay directly the "magazine" called DPReview.
C'mon guys, in your about page you say that the staff is made of 8 (eight!) editors, and you say you can't manage to publish 8 full reviews per month? 8 editors it's a huge staff, I'm in the publishing industry and I know that many magazines are made of far less editors, what's going on? You don't have the resources to make a single review per month per editor?
I mean, if we had 8 full review per month plus Jeff's reviews it would be great, but Jeff's reviews are published because 8 of you can't do what he do alone!

Richard, as you may have read I was lead to think they were 8 editors by their very own About page. I checked the facts, but the source was incomplete.
Anyway, they are successful, sure, but to say "if you don't like don't read" is not a good way to keep reader's loyalty. Again, I know this because we do a similar job and I to have to deal with readers...

@Revenant: I like so much the kind of people that can say anything about someone just reading a comment. I like them because they are always wrong and cover themself of ridiculousness.
Maybe you should read again: I am in the publishing business, so I know probably more than you and I wrote that 8 editors are plenty to write 8 reviews per month. Ok let's say 7? You prefer 6? Ok, 6 sull reviews per month. This is a fact, not a complaint from an armchair expert.
Now that Mr. Joinson revealed that they are only 3 full-time editors it's obvious that the whole thing is different and they manage to publish A LOT: 3 full-time editors is not a big number for the ammount of reviews that they publish per month (around 4 plus previews).

@Richard Franiec: think what you want, 1 month per review is plenty time, even more than enough for a compact camera. I am sorry if you feel offended by my statement, but it's true: the income of almost any website is correlated to how many readers they have, the fact that you don't pay means nothing. Actually even if you pay for a magazine and complain they can say "if you don't like just buy another", and in the end they will close.

First of all i will answer to Mr. Joinson. The fact that you have only 3 full-time editors makes my comment totally wrong, and I apologize for that. I only saw 8 (actually 7, BTW) editors in your about page and that lead me to the conclusion in my comment.

JoeDaBassPlayer: It is not so much that it is a recycled review but one that had some obvious out of the ordinary issues. As a result, the original is tainted and should not have been chosen to be reused.

DPR also admits it is the only review of a serious camera to be outsourced. Why make an exception and then use a flawed review as that exception.

Richard, they are 8 editors, 6 full reviews in 2 months is not that much IMHO, just normal.

Will Dan Chung or someone else make an interview about this camera? It's a real camera so it should be more important to us than a videocamera like the Canon's one which had three or four news stories...

DaveMarx, we are not in a court and you are not a lawyer... movie and photography are not the same thing and very few photographers are professional videomakers (interested in professional tools) too. So video is welcome, but can't be the main topic on a photography website.

BTW you should know what is a photography director in a movie, that's enough to draw a line between the two worlds.

Oh, and enjoy the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera!!! When will we be able to read about the new 6K sensor from RED? Slashgear and Engadget already wrote about it...

WOW, another Zeiss cine lens news in homepage... they should switch to Digital Videography Review. I repeat myself, I don't hate video but let's be honest, this is too much for a photography website! It's not about video in still cameras, we are talking about 20.000$ Zeiss lens here, a clearly professional tool. Why we don't see a well-known professional photographer (as Samuel Dilworth defined Dan Chung) explaining some medium format digital back? Is a professional videocamera more important to a photography website than a professional still camera?!?!?! C'mon...

KAllen, they could have made one of the two news "Making sense of Canon's 4K cameras with EOSHD" and "Dan Chung asks Canon about EOS-1D C at 4K launch". That's just an example, I would not even give that much space to professional video equipment on a photography website that is lacking of contents about photography. I don't want to appear as an orthodox and video is welcome but to me this seems too much. Who is so interested in this camera, as a photographer, that want to read three news (and more counting other C cameras and lenses news...) about it? Do we see any comment from other websites or freelance when a still camera is announced?

I still wonder why DPreview overs Lytro so much... I mean, there are plenty of cameras that need a review, this is nothing more than a proof of concept with ridiculous resolution. Still, any news about it get on the homepage of DPreview.
