That increase in price on 7D is due to the more advanced AF system. For fast moving wildlife or action photography the 7D will give you a better chance at getting the shots you want. For macro work...

I found a great instructor through my local camera club. One on one lessons tailored to my skill level (zero) and goals in photography for a very reasonable price. Check to see if there is a club...

I like the Vello Freewave. It costs around $43 from Amazon and can be used cabled or with the remote. If you have multiple cameras you can buy an adapter cable to use on different models.

Outdoor, natural lighting will be soooo much easier! I am not a fan of taking indoor portraits. Good luck!

Nice shot but ....Ewwwww! I hate snakes!

I don't use a flash. I shoot in the morning or late afternoon with the sun at my back and the feeder at a slight angle hanging over the pool or about 15 feet in front of greenery. I have it on a...

I have the 70-300L and 400L and if I pan correctly I can get sometimes get 8 out of 8 in focus on hummingbirds. Both are very sharp and fast to focus. The 70-300 is my most used lens. It is so...

Very cool! I would love to get some pics of them but not have to deal with the swarm.

Beautiful photos! You are very talented. Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks! This was the 70-300L. I have a 400 but don't really need it as the hummers here are tame and often fly too close. They like my red hair.

I have the 5D3 and 7D but prefer the 7D for hummingbirds. I can sit 3 1/2 feet away from the feeder and not have to crop much.

Wow! Love the bird. What is it with everyone dropping stuff lately? You and Mailman are making me paranoid.

Did that at the macro workshop. 8 frames per second so there was no way to miss that fast flower:(

Very nice! Glad you are happy and having fun with your new camera. The more you use it the more you are going to love it. I shot hummingbirds yesterday and it amazes me how great the focus and...

Which picture style were you using? Landscape makes the biggest difference in the greens.

As long as you keep the shutter speed up you will have no problem with the lack of IS. That is one great lens.

Nice shots. What do you think so far?
