It is ridiculous. It's a flaw shared by all Sony cameras AFAIK. Also, AEB and remote shutter are mutually exclusive.

Awww, poor big man is threatened by a few flowers...

Stopped by Best Buy today and saw that the NX1000 is down to $299 there. Looks like the same price is at BestBuy.com for all colors- pink, white, and black. :)

It's a massive overstatement to say that AF is orders of magnitude slower on any DSLR vs any mirrorless. If this were the case, AF would take seconds on a mirrorless camera.
-
This would be easily done if we had the source to the camera app itself- but if the camera doesn't support this already, it'd actually be quite hard.
-
Does the NX300 currently support this? If so, it'd be possible to do this remotely. If it doesn't do this already, the remote server I'm thinking of won't be of any help- it'd still require either...

I don't have a NX300 or NX2000, so it's unlikely I'll work on this. If I do find myself with a NX300 (been thinking of getting my first system camera) I think I'd have to give it a try.
With this...

IMHO, the best thing would be one of the rugged models. Mostly because the lens doesn't need to extend and they're easy to clean. Failing that, another model with a lens that doesn't need to...

As I've pointed out elsewhere, Samsung didn't include the source to the really interesting stuff like the camera app- since they aren't obliged to do so. I've been thinking a lot about what kind of...

Just rename it on the computer...

It's passive aggressive sarcasm, not meant literally. :-P

Bridge cameras and low light performance really don't go together, though the f/2.8 lens of the Panasonic might be the closest thing.

Amazon US has it, for $50 USD less than the kit.

Very nice! I'm going to have to give this a try. Many live bugs can be subdued with refrigeration - might buy you a few minutes of still time to get a handful of shots once you've developed your...

What a cutie! I love the smirk in #2. :)

I can't help myself- two more:

Me too. There's very little advantage to having apps for the 5R and 6 if there's no way for third parties to write apps.
-
They already do- and just like Samsung, they only release what they are obliged to per package licensing. http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/DI/category01.html

I'm especially curious if you can use it when drive mode is set to AE bracketing.
I suppose it'd be very useful with a setup like yours. Let us know how you fare when you get it!

IIRC, they didn't put an IR receiver on any of the 3 series. That there's any option for a remote on the 3N is an improvement, IMHO.
