Thanks Tom. Going on 76 and every day I thank my husband wh0 died 10 years ago for buying me my first camera a Kodak 2mps. it is a healthy passion and so many groups to belong to in Israel. My daughter is here from Australia and I am giving her all my heavy Canon gear to take back as she and her husband have been studying photography Good to hear that you too are also still so involved. Happy New Year to you and yours.

My travel camera doesn't even exist here the sony rx100ii. I took three cameras to venice last year and ended up using this one as it is light, decent focal length and can almost take photos in the dark. I call it my pocket rocket and so small and light. Of course if you are after Bokeh it isn't for you. I am an old lady so that explains why.

Fredy Ross: Interesting but you would have failed a course at university in Sydney titled what is art. It has universal appeal , needs no language and selectively perceived by the observer from his or her perspective. I often get annoyed by titles describing a emotion when I observe with a totally different emotion. Naming where taken is interesting for people who may never get to these places.

Engineering would explain your need for details. The digital technology must suit you and your photos are great. Just be careful whatever the title you can't sell a photo of people or buildings without a release to do so.

I really couldn't care. I have the a7r and am blown away by the wonderful detail in A+ prints which is as large as my Epson prints. The camera was cheaper and smaller than canon or Nikon so I am a happy camper. Makes more sense to me than the a7s

Ilove my sony rxii but would think about an upgrade but the focal length is too short.

On article 10 competitions to keep your photography inspired (24 comments in total)

Lately on facebook I have had requests from "friends" who have entered competitions around the world and have asked me to go to the photo and click "like". Can't think off hand which ones but was very surprised to see a couple of the sites were well-known and I would have thought reputable judges would only be involved. Has anyone else had the same experience? To be honest whenever I get the urge and there is a charge I buy a new lens and am lucky the urge doesn't happen often.

the M3 has more megapixels than my sony nex 6 but the sony has a bigger sensor. So which will produce better quality? I thought to buy the m3 as it is silent but now I wonder whether I should just stay with the nex 6? What do others think? I have ef and efs lenses so would need the adapter.
