  • I rally like the G7. The G5 and the G6 were good cameras, but they weren't much FUN. The G7 has a lot of fun features - not gimmicks like iAuto or whatever that does, but like multiple exposures ...
  • Well, price for one. I picked up my kit for $824 - so the body was just a few hundred $, mostly offset by selling my g6. :-). Sold a 45-150 lens to offset some more. So, I got a better EVF, ...
  • I picked up a g7 with 14-140 and the 2 combined over my g6 is a pretty awesome performance improvement. Might be the newest sensor but for the $ I'm happy. This year. :-)
  • Not to complain and provide no answers, I'm wondering how scriptable Mac applications are. You can scroll back and forth in Quicktime Player X, and can Copy a still to the clipboard. In Preview, ...
  • <sigh> VideoLan for Mac - works, but keyboard control stops working randomly. E will go to next frame... and then it won't. Also doesn't live scrub - you need to lift scroller to see where you are. ...
  • Thanks, I'll give it a shot!
  • Created discussion thread G7, extract frames from 4k video?
Anyone have a Mac solution for looking at 4k video (4k Photo mode, actually) and pulling out frames to make a still... that's NOT in the camera? Lightroom 6 is pretty useless, since you can't ...
  • Commented on article Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Review

It is most assuredly OLED. My eyes are vey sensitive to tearing, and this and the G6 have OLED viewfinders. Quit nice ones, too.

  • It's a UHS 1 card but a Sandisk Extreme 95MBps. It's fast, though newer UHS 3 cards could be better. My 45MBps Sandisk Pro card can't do high nitrate 1080p sometimes sustained
  • I like neoprene (small) cases for my cameras, and I was hemming and hawing over a Zing designs regular SLR cover (had one for my D40, and as we know they're about the same size) or the Op/Tech ...
  • Created discussion thread G7 Arrived yesterday
Wasn't in time for Track Day, so no 4K photos of fast cars.  :-(  I'll answer some of the "feeling" questions I had before holding it in case folks are curious.  I'll leave the feeds-'n-speeds to ...
  • I got mine today. Not much different from previous G cameras, but just enough bigger than the g6 that it won't fit in my neoprene pouch anymore. First impression is pretty favorable though. I also ...
  • Funny you mention the tubes. I picked up a Leica adaptor and a pair of tubes a few years ago and completly forgot about them. I'll give them a shot this week and see what happens. My memory is that ...
  • Created question thread Macro lens and adaptor for m4/3?
I was out hiking this weekend, and ran across some neat bugs and realized I didn't have a lens that could pop out a few macros.  I could get the 30mm macro for $400, but would like to go around ...
  • Replied in June 28th
I preordered from Panasonic, and it shipped, but not the 2 day service primised :-( but home delivery. Won't be here until tuesday - same day as my friend's track day, so I'll miss that. Bummer.
  • My 14-140 kit is ready for shipment as of today... Says ships in 5-7 business days. :-(. Oh well. It was a good deal so a bit more of a wait won't kill me.
